Shower stall info help!

OK, I have a Jack and Jill type bathroom scenario. It's basically 2 bathrooms that share a bathtub/shower stall. My wife and I want to renovate, and here is what we want and are having trouble finding.

We want a SHOWER STALL ONLY, no tub. We would still have it be accessible from both sides, but we have no need for a tub up there, we have one downstairs.

Thoughts and places to look at?

I'm having a hard time picturing what you want; I'm lost on the "accessible from both sides" - why can't you just put a shower stall in the bathroom and call it good?

Ok, I've seen that done, on one of the uber-high-end bathroom fixture websites. Can't recall it off-hand.

I've never seen a prefab stall with entries from opposite sides. Why not get a prefab pan and 2 sheets of solid surface material such as Corian?

Depends on the look you are trying to get.. I would probably make walk through from both bathrooms into a stand up shower with no doors...you could put side spray nozzles and a rain head in the ceiling. You could do glass block walls between the shower area and bathrooms to keep the natural lighting (somewhat dated imho) or there are hundreds of tile and natural stone choices to go with. Home Depot or any of the larger construction suppliers sell sheet shower pan liners for doing custom sized shower pans.. Good Luck!

Clarity - This is the way it is already. There is a tub in the middle there with sliding doors that allow access. This is common in the houses in my neighboorhood....

Northcrest Modern

I have found a place that sells the shower pan, but it was the non sliding doors part that I was having issues with. The corian sides, that is the answer I think.

Here is another pic, I did a Google search on jack and jill bathroom and this came up. This is from one of the houses in my hood, it's looking from the master bath, through the tub, into the guest bath.

I just want the shower...no need for the tub...does this make more sense?

Interesting design. I've never seen or heard of it.

You could find a pan or more likely tile it and just have a glass and mirror place fab up either a frame/glass enclosure or just glass only.

2 complete toilets/vanities, one on each side?

I'd close in one side, so both bathrooms have privacy, and just one has a shower.

We redid our bathroom with custom tile & a heated floor. We just had a local guy make us a custom glass door. He came out and measured the opening, and had the parts custom cut. It was just one door of course. It goes to the top of the shower pan and is made of clear glass. It is of course the proper safety glass for a shower door. The track on the bottom is way better than the old standard track. I am sure he could make a twin door setup. All you would need is a shower pan. As I remember the door was not that expensive.

You can get a shower stall basin at Lowes or Home depot, sans bathtub, then just build 2 walls and put 2 shower doors on it.

Any good contractor can build a low wall and mount a Home Depot shower door on each side; My advice is to make sure you replace the pan when you do this.

Permit? You decide. You are breaking plumbing; In most jurisdictions that = permit.

Good luck! I'm almost done with my own bathroom re-hab.

PS: I utterly LOVE "mid-century modern"! My 1962 house has a second bathroom that I probably will NOT renovate because it still has ALL the early 60's fittings and matching tile! Sadly, the terrazzo in my house was tiled over, and it would have been prohibitively expensive to repair it.
