More Ducati Fun
O.k., I know the 'net is chock full of home made driving and riding video and probably didn't need yet another, but I couldn't help myself. The kids gave me this teeny little camera, a Contour HD, that was just screaming for a ride on the mighty 900 SS. So, I got out the tin snips, some sheet aluminum, and some pop rivets and cobbled together a mount. Here, in all its glory, is my very first Duc riding video. Amateurish at best, but hey, I'm havin' fun...

Great fun little vid! The road looks so narrow-do you think the windscreen was distorting the camera some? Also love the sound moving up and down the gears. I wonder if there is a way to cut down on the wind noise?

Wide angle camera I suspect. Fun video...nice to have a rain free day, isn't it?

And yes, finally - you know what it's been like up here in the Pacific Northwest. This has got to have been the most protracted, drug out, dreary winter in recent memory. Weather fit for neither man nor beast, that beast being our favorite motorcycle, Porsche, or Mustang. Note the clouds threatening overhead - I did get spit on a bit on the way home. Quote:
None of that is wind noise. I double-backed it to my helmet on the first run, and you couldn't hear a thing other than the wind. That was on our last sunny day. My mount holds it well under the windscreen, so no wind gets to it at all. That is purely mechanical noise, and intake noise. It has an open airbox that is right under the tank and camera, and the desmo valve train noise seems to transmit right on up through the frame. If I flip my faceshield up it sounds just like that to me, live on the bike.

....and only one lowly F-150 to pass in the entire 5 minute ride. Where were all the mini-vans and handicap drivers rolling along with turn signals on and seatbelts hanging out the door making sparks? Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

For those not familiar with High Bridge Road - this is part of the route we take to breakfast once a month in our old Porsches. I've thought it would be fun to video the line of cars as we snake our way down this road. Jeff's usually up front - I'm usually off the back somewhere.......

Further North, more like between Woodenville and Monroe. The first bridge I go under is Hwy 522 that goes from Woodenville out to Monroe.

Good ear. 41mm FCR's with an open airbox. You should hear those things when I really get on it - they are loud enough to actually make my ears hurt, through a full face helmet and all.

Jeff, if you have the full HD video that the Contour should have filmed in, please post it too. Dying to see how it looks at it's full resolution.
