I grew up in High Point, a small, working-class, blue collar town for the most part...the "market" doubles it population. When I was a youngin' I often wondered why po-dunk little ole HP had the only Rolls-Royce dealer in the state

Thanks for the info...may take you up on that. Always like to meet Pelicans...and to save money. Will definitely need some bedroom furniture as we are giving our old stuff away before we move. In fact...I am towing a uhaul to my daughter's house now with the old junk. She can use it in her guest bedroom for when we visit. |

Lived in Vegas for 3 year now, have never noticed any furniture conventions. I notice the gun ones because they post billboards outside my exit coming home from work. Occasionally a convention for a video game or car show will perk my interest, but I never attended. Outside of that, I'm sure there is something going on all the time for something, but that's probably part of the problem. Because it's a weekly thing, you get complacent to it all.

There probably is an average of 25 to 50 conventions going on every week here...from 25 to thousands of people attending.

tabs is right, some never even fill out a big meeting room at a hotel. Most never have to book the convention center. Most are unnoticed. You probably wouldn't know when the porn and sex toys convention is in town.
