Harry has been abandon by previous owners, if U had been abandon you would have seperation anxiety to.

He is in a new home and has to be reassured that you care for him. When I got George, I went in to where he was laying down and laid next to him for awhile to reasure him that all was well.

One has to be aware that he misses his previous home and the family there terribly much. So some love attention and talking to him will help him fit in. .

we will get puppies from now on so that i can train them when they are trainable.
Yeah, cause if there is one bad apple - I will and have thrown out the whole bunch.

Every dog I have ever had except for 1 has been a rescue. They have not all been perfect but of the lot of them only 1 didn't work out. The 1 that wasn't a rescue was a Golden Retriever that my mom got as a puppy (the dog, not my mom). She didn't pay for it that I recall. Our family went through some hard times when she was about 6 or 7 and she ended up with me for a couple of years. She was fantastic, she died a couple of years ago while back with my mom in the north carolina mountains. A very happy dog.

The 1 that didn't work out was a springer spaniel we picked up at about a year old. Terribly hyper but that was manageable. until one day she just stopped getting along with our other dog. We had to move her to another family members household but she still never seemed the same. Eventually she was hit by a car and Dad had to have her put down due to the injuries.

Otherwise I think we've had close to 20 rescues in my memory between different family members and they have all been great. It takes a bit of work to train some of them but I would not close the door based on one difficult dog.

well, i think 3.5 years was a fair shake. he was making the whole lot of us nuts, including our newfoundland.

My two rescue dogs. The copper colored one likes to rescue french fries and anything she can beg or steal from the dinner table. The white one I got as a puppy. You have to work with them, but they do understand when they have found a good home.

I'm just saying you shouldn't give up on rescues based on the one dog. Rescues can be the luck of the draw - I've just been extremely lucky.

My Dachshund gets her exercise chasing the Quail and Bunnies around the house. The bell on her collar makes sure of her lack of success. She gets a lot of exercise.....
