I drank birch beer when I was a kid in eastern Pennsy. Chewed the bark on the branches of the birch bush (not birch tree) that flavored it. It's still sold there, nonalcoholic like root beer and sassafras. Never was able to find it anywhere else. You have it in Wisconsin?

I do sometimes tell people to put a cork in it, but of course that is not actual consumption.

When I was a kid, they also made pine tar gum up in Maine, which they sold to vacationers. Every kid had to try them.
