My cat and one of my dogs has dislocated or broken their tails at one time. The lab would walk around droopy tail and if she wagged it she cried.

The cat basically did pretty much nothing but went crazy if you tried to mess with her tail. Walked funny and carried its tail differently than usual. She did not even walk around much, preferring to just lay around. Took about 2 weeks for both of them.

I have lost another cat to feline leukemia which is a slow sneaky disease. Which really lead to renal problems prior to putting her down.

Good luck, take your friend to the Vet, they will take payments.

I can PayPal you $50 if that will help.

So will I - just PM me - no need to pay it back, just pay it forward sometime

Put me down too if you need it nynor - I have a siamese too... they worm their way into your heart. Just PM me, and the next time you see a cat that needs help - as jyl said - pay it forward.

Rodsrsr 05-24-2011 01:51 PM

Put me down too. pm me if you like. I hope your cat is ok.

nynor 05-24-2011 01:52 PM

i appreciate the offer of money. really. you guys rock.

however, this is a cat. not my son. some perspective is in order here. if she gets worse and is in chronic pain, i'll have her put down. yeah, i will be upset, but that is the way of it.

considering the difference in her behavior today, i do think she is going to make it. i have been keeping a very close eye on what is going on.

This is a good reason to have pet insurance (another discussion and the benefits/detriments have been discussed on another thread already). Bonnie (my cat who was lost to CRF) was half Siamese and half Persian too. I hope she's okay but if need be I'm in for a donation to help out also.

Me too...

if you cant take care of you pet when they are ill then you dont deserve to have a pet.

sorry to be harsh but you really need to take them to the vet to get them checked out. they cant take themselves and they cant tell you what is wrong. get to an expert and find out what is really going on. could be something minor could be something serious...

pwd72s 05-24-2011 02:49 PM

It made me feel bad...when you admitted that perhaps you were the one to injure the cat, a sentinent being, then said you'd put ther down rather than pay to undo your damage.

I hope she heals...

nynor 05-24-2011 02:55 PM

pets are not humans. if she is suffering, i'll take her to the vet, and she will be put down. it is interesting how we have totally lost perspective with our pets. it is a cat, not my son, my wife, the neighbor.

yes, i am worried, i will miss her. i will mourn. but, she is a cat, not a human.

Rodsrsr 05-24-2011 03:20 PM

I suspect that if your kid were sick, people would step up even more. I think people feel sorry for pets because they are helpless and rely on humans for care. I'm sure that you care about your pet otherwise you wouldn't have posted, so I think we can all calm down. :)

nynor 05-24-2011 03:25 PM

yep. if my kid were sick, i'd get it taken care. damn the cost.

i do care about my cat. i am worried. but, she isn't my son. i'd rather spend the money on shoes for my son, to be cliche.

Yep, lost all my respect.

I believe there are laws that protect animals from Cruelty and Neglect. Hand her over to the SPCA, they'll fix her and find her a loving home.

+1

Find a shelter that will not euthanize. They'll fix her and find her a suitable, loving home. If my cat were in that type of pain, she would be at a vet pronto, without regard for expense.

t-tom 05-24-2011 04:09 PM

It was only 500 bucks because I waited until it ruptured. If you take here in before it ruptures it should only be 60-80 bucks.

t-tom 05-24-2011 04:12 PM

Take her to the Vet inside a petco if you have one close. Half the time they will look at her for free. They are animal lovers just like alot of us here. I would sell everything I own to take care of Tiger. He has been with me for more that half my life! He is part of me.

A guy with four vehicles can't afford to take his suffering pet to the vet. Pathetic.

I don't know nynor, but this attitude appears to be a microcosm of the broader, selfish mentality that got this country into the economic sinkhole that we are all currently enjoying.
