Too f'n bad then. No more sports. They don't deserve a pass anymore than the rest of us.

rjp

I wholeheartedly agree!

And Sidney, the road where this occurred may not be the same as the straight and lonely roads of Oklahoma.

I think you would be safe. :)

Without actually knowing the circumstances, you can't really pull off "sanctimonious" properly.

Not all back roads are the same. Just sayin.

I didn't say I disagreed with you. I think that pro atheletes and others who serve as role models should be held to a higher standard. But that will never happen because they make money for lots of people.

A yellow Lexus LFA owned by Lexus and loaned to him.

Most people probably take the news of a professional race care driver getting a speeding ticket at 4 times the limit the same way a fan of porn movies would take the news that a male porn star got hit with a paternity case - it's not exactly going to hurt his standing with the fans.

Excessive speeding with no other bad driving conduct and no accident raises the offence from simple speeding to reckless or careless driving. It gets him a fine and a license suspension. That's what would happen to you and me if we did the same thing, that's what will happen to him. He apologized. He'll pay his fine and sit out his suspension. Other than thinking it was equal parts irresponsible and funny that he didn't quite get a full four times the speed limit, I give it no more thought. It's really not much of an issue one way or another.

not to condone his actions, but my 2200 pound 585 chp 71 911 will run up to 128 and back down to proper speed in just a short bit...and especially if im already running 70 mph. i imagine the lexux was at that speed with just a blip of the throttle!

At least he wasn't caught in Toronto on the 401. I took this pic last weekend:

My wife and I had been looking at it.

Good times...

and for those who don't know, that is wheat dust being kicked-up on that road. (read: the only time those roads are used are at harvest ... and occasional 911 drivers) :)

Absolutely... one of the best tours I've ever been on.

I'm pretty sure the speed limit was 45 here to. Hahahahahahahahahaha!

Note the supercharged red Mustang with the funny lights flashing in the rear window...the kindly officer driving same may politely request your keys while giving you some shiney bracelets to wear. ;) This a pic of an Oregon cop car...

non issue..he was charged with the speed and reckless driving..let the court sort out his punishment.
A 45mph zone does not indicate it is a dangerous place; just has a 45mph zone.
I know a "guy" guilty of similar speeds on roads also posted 45mph that have no houses, blind curves, blind kids, blind dogs, etc.
Some of you guys are such ninnies...

Kyle has a good defense......Kevin Harvick had challenged him to a fight and he was trying to get away.......

Are folks still using "pro athletes" as role models?

50 years ago, this would have been thought of as "charming" and made you think someone was a "good ol boy" or, insanely fun.. now we all point fingers and try to shame.

is it reckless? yes. so what? How does "his" wrecklessness honestly impact your daily life? it doesn't. get off the soap box.
