Extreme Ice Fishing
You have to see this - very impressive...
YouTube - Race against the tide, risking death under huge blocks of ice - Human Planet: Arctic - BBC One

Uh, how did they get their nuts down through that hole in the ice? It couldnt possibly have been big enough. Maybe they force them through one at a time..
That's what I call insane. I didn't listen to the audio, but Im sure the tide comes and goes fairly slowly, but still. Wow!

I would be more afraid of the ice shifting and crashing down on top of me. I like shell fish but not that much!

I would imagine they develop a sense of where a good place to go down is and what kind of pocket is most stable, but it would be kind of scarry.

Must be Ungava Bay in northern Quebec.
Second highest recorded tides in the world after the Bay of Fundy. A bit of dramatic license going on, as the time lapse photography compresses a 12 hour 25 minute tide cycle into a half minute. Still, crawling around under the chunks of ice to get dinner isn't for the faint-hearted. Les
