Cool Spaces Station photos

NASA - Expedition 27 Departure Photos

ISS027-E-036816 (23 May 2011) --- This image of the International Space Station and the docked space shuttle Endeavour, flying at an altitude of approximately 220 miles, was taken by Expedition 27 crew member Paolo Nespoli from the Soyuz TMA-20 following its undocking on May 23, 2011 (USA time). The pictures taken by Nespoli are the first taken of a shuttle docked to the International Space Station from the perspective of a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

I wanna go for a visit!

When I see those photos all I see is an incredibly huge waste of taxpayer's money, for nothing.

Funding for NASA should be optional. Check a box on the 1040 form if you wanna donate to find NASA, don't check the box if you don't.
They wouldn't be able to afford to fly to Jersey.

Oh but wait, they've given us all kinds of great things for those hundreds of billions of dollars we spent like tang, velcro, foam mattresses ..... what a deal.

"For nothing" isn't correct. A lot of science has been conducted on shuttle flights and space station.

Funding NASA is like funding Welfare, only there is a return on the investment. NASA programs stimulate and maintain manufacturing expertise, produce technologies that trickle down to industry and in the big scheme of things provides a giant jobs program for a lot of people.

Now, one can argue whether or not the "jobs program" is worth it, but providing jobs for educated engineers and scientists sure beats giving food stamps to people living under bridges in my opinion.
