I was volunteering for the National Park Service and they had called to see about getting in the ring with a bobcat or mountain lion. When the lady who took the call asked around about who those guys were. I told her it was a bad idea to let them play with the animals. They were shut down on that too.

Gosh...the real tragedy here? There may not be any more Jackass movies.

The Jackass guys came to Sydney a few years ago to appear in a Wolmother music video. I work in the film industry (not on this video) and subsequently went out one night to a party, the Jackass guys were there. All I can say is..they were out of control. As Hugh said, Im also surprised all of them are still alive, and that's just from seeing them drunk, let alone the films etc.

Oh come on guys... haven't we all put our heads up an elephants butt at least once?

Never seen the show and not a fan of the guy... sad that two people died... sadder that people can make a living out of being drunken fools.

Only proves once again how low-life that guy is. He and all his wanna-be rapper buddies.
He's lucky no one here reported him for DUI, hit and run or insurance fraud.

Since when did every one here become the Angry Old White Dude we grew up making fun of??? True, most of us did crazy things when we were you, maybe not on this scale and I 'm pretty sure that most of us (there are a few I'm not sure about) never had an interest in putting any part of our bodies in an animals bum..... Dunn & friends seemed to be happy & enjoying their lifes, hell, who here wouldn't want to race the Gumball 3000??? Drinking & driving, very stupid, but as it has been pointed out, one of the very liberal members here not only did it, but bragged about it & committing fraud.. Many (most) of the pranks were just plain stupid, but at least they showed the results when they went bad. What always bothered me most about the show is how Bam's Dad sold out being a Father to be a stooge for his Son, sure, most likely he & Phil are well paid but that, more than anything else sends the wrong message to todays youth..
Very True..

Why??

Course this one always makes me laugh..

I've enjoyed most of the Jack Ass movies, just didn't appreciate it (as much) when they did stuff that affected others.

Like one of their first stunts was to rent a car, smash out the windows, put in a roll cage and a couple of blow-up dolls, and then enter it into a smash-em-up derby.

Then they returned it to the rental place with the "but it's got a full tank of gas" defence.

Sure, it was funny as hell, but I felt badly for laughing at it. Hypocritical on my part? Yep. But it WAS funny.

R.I.P. Ryan Dunn

I have never seen any of the jackass stuff and I don't plan to. But like the quote above it is no real tragedy to get a drunk & very reckless driver off the roads.

Yeah we are all human and we all make mistakes... but there are little mistakes... big mistakes... and HUGE stupid mistakes.

I do feel sorry for them both - how ever we decide to live our life, it is still sad when it ends - even more so when the life that ends is young...

As for the Jackass gang and movies - I have seen some of it, and to me it is just slap-stick humor taken to the limit, and yes I do find most of it funny and entertaining. I do not judge if it is good or bad, but it works for them.

I think we should try to separate the two main points here - what he did for a living and how he died. If he was your son, how would you feel?

Sounds like it was bound to happen sooner or later....

"The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Wednesday that Dunn received at least 23 driving-related citations in the past 13 years, 90 percent of which ended in guilty pleas, including 10 stops for speeding and careless driving and three more for driving with a suspended license. In 2005, he was arrested for drunken driving, but charges were dropped when he completed a probationary program; his license was suspended for more than a year, according to court records.

"He drove too fast," April Margera, mother of Dunn's best friend and "Jackass" co-star Bam Margera, told the local NBC station Monday. "I yelled at him all the time about that."

Why do these threads always end up like.

"Famous guy likes hitting himself in the head with a hammer and eventually died from head injuries."

"Famous guy is an idiot!"

"Hater!"

"At least famous guy died doing what he loved"

"Many of you have hit your thumb with a hammer... are you really any better?"
