I was married to a Martha Steward clone who'd lost interest in sex (at least with me). After the divorce, I craved wild monkey sex. I met a stripper at a 12 step meeting & brought her home. It was a crazy 2 years. I tried to save her from herself, but you can't fix crazy. I had to take her to the physic ward every couple of months because she would freak out. I was kind of nice though, I knew it wouldn't last & I could get out anytime. I finally had to throw her out because she took my car to relapse & smashed the front....AGAIN.

Her dad was a retired pastor at a big church. She told me her parents tried to have her demons cast out of her when she was 10 & it put her off the deep end. I was standing with her father outside the physic ward one evening. He started in on me about how her problems were my fault because of our sin. I turned to him & said "It seems to me her problems started when she was in your care as a child." We didn't talk much after that.

After she was gone, I had no more desire for crazy women or crazy sex. It was a fun lesson. I haven't seen or talked to her in over 10 years, but she still looks good to me.

Enough - and know enough through second-hand horror stories to reasonably infer that any girl willing to strut her cooter on stage for a bunch of testosterone-oozing pricks has some serious underlying psychological issues.

Might there be a stripper out there somewhere who's for all practical intents normal? Possibly but I doubt it. The very activity implies a certain degree of manipulativeness and low self-esteem. Girls who never were taught the confidence in their abilities to attain their goals so instead turned to using sex as a tool... Generalization? Perhaps, but the pattern seems to support it.

I know enough about strippers to know I don't have any desire to put my pole in one, much less get involved with one on anything more than an across-the-room fake first-name basis, which is to say not really at all.

To each their own... If others want to hoot and holler and act like a bunch of undersexed baboons in heat whilst handing perfectly good money over for $5 or $10 crappy beers or phony attention from girls with psychological issues, that's their deal. I stopped being led through life by my dick a long time ago.

Soon after the demise of the BW me and a friend ended up in Budapest. Young creatives from an ad agency out to saturate a beautiful cultured European capital city with advertising for products the Hungarians just really didn't need, but lapped up.
One night after some of the local firewater 'Palinka' we shared a cab with some young girls who were going to 'work'. They worked in a turn of the century enormous house which had a stage and had formally been the strip club for party loyalists and was now a capitalist bastion
We became friends with a couple of the girls, life was great and uncomplicated eventually after some problems following a party we threw we ended up living with them. In the light of these stories it sounds crazy but I was 22 and life was fun and uncomplicated. Zusha (Zoosha) was awesome and came with no baggage at least not that she shared, it was a wild time. As soon as she had earned enough money she went off to Spain to learn Dressage. I look back on that time fondly. I wonder if it was the lack of hard drugs in that country that made the difference.
Can't believe it was 20 years ago ... Aw crap Im reminiscing now i really sound like the 42 year old fart i am.

I never really understood those places. Nothing like handing out money to a woman to get you all excited to go home by yourself. like showering with a raincoat on.

GH85Carrera 06-21-2011 05:19 AM

I used to drive right past a very notorious strip club on my way home every day. One very hot day I had a buddy with me and he wanted to stop in the strip club. My 914 was un-air conditioned and we were both hot so a cold beer sounded good. This was long before I got married.

As soon as we sat down I saw a guy I knew that was a customer of the company I worked for. He had terror in his eyes because I knew he was there. He was a local "pillar of the community" type and always talking about his high morals. He came over and bought two pitchers of beer for us. He leaned over and started begging me to forget he was there. He threw a hundred bucks on the table for us and he left in a hurry. We drank the beer and split the cash. My buddy was thrilled, we go into a nice cool strip bar cool off, see some "talent" get a pitcher of beer each and make 50 bucks each. Score.

You guys are hilarious. Who tips at a peeler bar any more?

A few friends of mine and I go to a strip club every few weeks, but to watch football, hockey, an MMA pay per view, that kind of thing. The local strip club has awesome food, and we watch the game-de-jour and get to see naked chicks during the commercials.

It's like going to a sports pub, but there are boobs everywhere.

So, o-phile - you know not a single dancer - yet, your second hand knowledge is enough for you to say that 'every girl'....

Wow - have you lead a sheltered and prejudicial life...

That same club I mentioned above had some of the first big screen TVs I had ever seen. If you want to make a stripper mad just keep leaning left or right to look around her while she is nude on stage to see the boat races on TV :)

URY914 06-21-2011 05:42 AM

I was at one and a guy got shot. Never went back to that one again.

You're doing good. Now finish that thought with the "I know several who are working their way through college" cliche.

Why I have such an excellent college education? :p

Gretch 06-21-2011 06:45 AM

Nope, more why you have a balanced point of view on how people take the gifts God gave 'em and make their way through life.

The guys holding up a cross between them and the "ballet" have their own inner demons....... though they will NEVER admit it.

Well then... how about an insiders opinion... what percentage of girls are messed up and what are just working there way through college?

Not being a smarta$$ really want to know.

I don't do strip clubs (did the usual couple visits in my 20's, not my thing).

However I have a good friend who is a regular at such clubs, who hangs out with the girls off the clock, and his opinion is more in line with P-O-P.

foxpaws 06-21-2011 07:05 AM

Current day - haven't a clue...

But, my experience, very few were going to college - more were taking 'classes' somewhere, usually not college, but at tech schools, adult 'enrichment' things, herbal health - that sort of stuff. Everyone knows you can't dance forever.

Were they messed up emotionally - some, probably more than the population as a whole, but not excessively so. Do they make bad decisions - often, particularly with men and money. Do they do more drugs - again, certainly more than the population as a whole - but you can't be strung out night after night and expect to keep your job, or make any money at it.

They are what they are - some good, some bad - all individuals - that is what I take offense to - you can't lump them into some all inclusive bucket...

Just like you shouldn't lump all the men who go to clubs into a single bucket either.

I bartended in topless bars for 5 years. I didn't date or sleep with any, but I got to know a bunch pretty well. I've met hundreds of strippers, at least. I've never met one that wasn't crazy, so I'd have to say the percentage is probably >99%.

Even the waitresses are mostly crazy.

I occasionally met some girls that I thought were NOT crazy. Invariably, I eventually discovered that they were crazier than the girls that were obviously nuts which is why they hid it so well.

Of course, if you meet a girl that's not a stripper, she's probably crazy too. The strippers just have a tendency to be the cream of the crazy crop. That's ok, us guys are just as crazy as women. The secret to finding a woman that you can live with Is finding one who's crazy complements your own crazy.

LOL!!!!!

And that is why I married her!!!!

Kraftwerk 06-21-2011 07:57 AM

Years ago I knew 3 strippers: One was putting herself through Harvard, she was scary-smart. We almost hooked up once. She said the level of sexual harassment was not much different than in an office. Feminist stripper!
The two others, I dated, They were also really smart and saw it as easy money. They all had issues but no more or less than the non-strippers I have dated. At the time they were working they were living in two of the most expensive cities in the world and didn't have proper working papers (Tokyo and Geneva) They needed money and were not trust fund kids so they worked/danced, with no clothes on. One is raising 3 kids now and is a great Mom.
The other lives in France and has a respectable career. They are all still kinda hot, too.
Stopped going to stripper bars long ago. Rather watch my g/f get out of the shower!~

Same here, just do not see the attraction. Have a friend who almost lives in them and just do not see why.

Years ago had a neighbor who worked at one, so I would stop in from time to time and have a beer/burger. Got to be friends with a couple of the ladies and took several home from time to time. They were fun but they were looking for the same thing, just some company for a few days and a smile the next morning. Not my cup of tea in the long run.

Spot on. Was friends with a couple of them and they were nice, educated and good people. One ended up being a good friend, going to college during the day, dancing at night. She retired at age 32 with every bill paid, owned her house and two others and a private airplane (and thats how we met) with a good bank account on the side.

That said, there are a lot of them who are "making the harley payment" for their biker boyfriend then there are the others who have an addiction to the "marching powder from Peru" and go from one client to another, spending time with whoever can "powder their nose" the best.

Still for me its a sad part of life and not for me...

Gretch 06-21-2011 11:07 AM

I think some of you guys are over thinking the whole thing.

The thing I like about dropping in occasionally on a peel palace is the combination of non-committment, pretty (did I mention naked) gals and watching the reaction of the patrons in the place.

I have probably only visited these establishments a couple dozen times over the last 40 years, and not all of them are the same. I find the big city ones less entertaining, by a wide margin. Quality looking females, but it is ALL about the money.

The other thing is with the exception of perhaps once, my visits have been with a few of my buddies while on hunting, or sled trips up in Quebec. Therein lies a bigger part of the entertainment. Buying one of your more shy buddies a surprise lap dance can be hilarious! Plus, the French Canadian Gals know their stuff!

The girls are all just trying to make a living. For the most part they know the drill and return value for the few dollars they are compensated. Anyone going to the ballet who falls in love with the strippers and wants to "help them to a better life" has deep profound issues of their own. Same with making value judgements about the ladies, their chosen profession or any other personal choices they make.

These are adult women......... not hurting anyone, providing entertainment and making choices in their lives. If those choices don't match with your view of what is right, well........... NOGAF, don't go there.

BTW, the glitter is VERY hard to get off.

Last one I was in was in Toronto for my bachelor party 4 yrs. ago and it was very lame. I've been to plenty in NJ, PA, DC and MD. Some of them made me want to pay them to put their clothes back on. It can be hoot if you go with your GF, but I've never been the least bit excited by anyone I've seen dance in a titty bar. And why do they call them "exotic dancers?" What a misnomer.

My ex-wife liked to go to K-street when we'd visit DC. As soon as they see you're with a woman, they move you to the VIP area. As usual, you are slid in with others at a table. She was all over me and saying stuff like: "Oh Senator, what would your wife think if she knew you were here with me..."

Last time I was in one was night before my wedding in las Vegas, 7 years ago. Pretty lame...
