without exception, everytime i see a dog do something that appears smart beyond a canine's ability..it is a border collie.

i almost got a young male, named "lightning" when the owner moved to ireland. but i honestly didnt think i could keep up with such a working dog. i turned lightning down.

Will do. The red/white one still needs some rehab from her blown out knee and I have a pool if she's water tolerant. She is a medium energy and the merle is med low energy from what they can tell. Two dogs are great together.

Oh they are both beautiful Mark...hope they both pick you!!!

The first girlie looks like she has some Kelpie in her too.

Ooooohhhhhhh I reaally want another Border Collie now....I so miss my baby girl Aggie .

When we bought Layla the Schnoodle the breeder kept telling me that if I thought my Border Collie was smart that I would be surprised at how smart the new pup would be. No mistake, Layla is smart alright - but she's not a mark on Aggie. My Dad used to say Ag-wags had the intelligence of a very smart 6yo child and he was right. She was just amazing ...

Great dogs! Must have jobs of some sort and lots of play! Walks, runs, chases, herding kids, etc.

Couldn't keep up with him? From a guy who gets up at 4:30 to go biking?

Nice looking dog! Be sure to have plenty of room to run and a "job" for the dog, or it will invent its own (probably not one you'll like)....

Here's my old Border Collie, Spunky, just before he passed away at age 18. Smartest dog EVAR!

Yeah, I miss the old dude. I have his ashes in a cedar box in my home office. He still watches over me.

Here is the late, great Mushu. He passed away July 1, 2010. He was only 9.5 years. God was he a fun dog. He is sorely missed. Whether it was a ball, frisbee, or my practice golfballs....he would tear after them and drop right at your feet ready to go again
