Heard a strange humming sound coming from the back room.
Not it wasn't the wife.
I have a room for the real dirty jobs in the back of my garage. Have not been in there for a few weeks. went in today to change a lightbulb and in the dark I could hear a strange humming sound like an electric motor running. Stood there for a sec thinking ok what's plugged in and what could be doing that. had my trouble light in my hand so turned it on and holy sh.t. A football size wasp nest hanging almost under the work bench. I have a special treatment for such things. Diazanon. no messin around. soaked it.they're dead. lots of larva on the ground .Will bag up tonight and toss in the beachfire. Close one! |

Heard a strange humming sound coming from the back room.
Wow!
I would face down a rattler over a big wasp nest. Better living with chemicals should be your chant.

diazanon is like agent orange. not too be taken litely.
PO left it here for the fruit trees but I would never use it on anything except to kill ants, wasps or? . Works good! Yes when it turned on the trouble lite it got some of them angry and they flew right at the light untill I slammed the door. My dad was allergic to them ,he blew up like a balloon and had the kit with him always. Don't think I am but don't want to find out the hard way. |

Are you sure you want to toss a diazinon-soaked wasp net into an open fire??

I put an ounce or so of that stuff on my huge anthills here in Montana. All activity is ceased within an hour.

Can you tell me in detail how would you do that, how to soak it without messing with it? I imagine soon you touch it, they bite you. Where to get Diazanon?
Couple weeks ago, I heard humming noise too when I walked to the back yard, and I saw a huge honey bee nest. I didn't know what to do with it and was thinking for several days. When I had time to look at it again, it's gone. Quote:

Diazanon was prohibited from retail sale by the EPA nearly a decade ago.
Use something else -- like Zyklon B maybe. Last edited by RWebb; 07-14-2011 at 04:16 PM.. |

No kids will ever even see the bottle.
it was banned for good reason. I have a sprayer that shoots a 10ft stream.hit it,slammed door and repeated 10min later. Fully clothed and I wear a mask just in case. forget the fire idea.who knows what could be in the smoke . Better to double bag and put in the garbage. Malathion is another product that should be used VERY carefully or maybe not at all. |

As an army family we grew up with that stuff in our house untill it was banned. My mother was convinced her health problems were at least partially attributed to it.

yeh the nice things about Malathion is the ADD, and bi***in' ability to smash the parasympathetic nervous system with a hammer while not effing too much with its doppelganger.

I go middle ages on ant hills. Boiling water works wonders on them, with no chemical side effects.

I use a can of Diet Coke on Fire Ant mounds. Takes a day or two but they don't come back. I think the artifical sweetner is fed to the queen but because it is sans calories she starves.
Baking Soda? Never heard of that but I have heard of a bucket of nitric acid and a iron coupon - generates nitrous oxides. A cheap bug bomb with no residues just stay away for a day or so.

Yes, they do know what should be banned. The problem is that they haven't banned as many toxins as they should. |
