is there a "home remedy" for polishing my watch face?

should have gotten the crystal face..but NOOOOOO..

i crawled under my home this weekend. for some stupid reason, i figured while i was down there, i could possibly have the need to know what time it is. i forgot to take off my watch. i scratched the face..again.

what does the pro use? and can i do it myself? i had the face replaced, not to long ago.

Red jeweler's rouge or what I use monthly: Griots's "Fine Hand Polish".

Plastic polish works.

Some toothpastes work.

Would these work for cleaning up the headlights as well?

Vash, any way you can mail me the watch? I have a ton of polishing fluids here at work.

Toothpaste - fold a small towel in 1/2 - Lay on a firm surface.

Squirt some toothpaste on the face and rub against the towel. You want to do hard enough where you generate a little heat.

Presto - scratch gone.

depending on the quality of the crystal you may also rub/polish off any anti glare coatings. If the crystal isnt coated then have a at it,
dont press too hard or build up too much heat ,
the crystal can crack or pop out of its seat

Worked like a charm polishing out 30+ years of scratches on my grandfather's old '77 Seiko Worldtime.

Any old "Chrome Polish" will do it. Metal Gleam, SimiChrome, etc.
