Hooray for evictions!
Normally this would be a sad thing, but our "neighbor from hell" is being evicted for nonpayment of mortgage on their shack across the street. mind you, these folks were given the house by their family and then loaded on the mortgages to finance their "My Name is Earl" lifestyle and now they are paying the price. Everyone in the neighborhood is glad to see them go and they have trashed the house and yard on their way out. The property is listed as "REO" and the bank "bought it" for $93k. I think the city will tear down the shack and sell the empty lot, but that will not happen right away as our local economy has been destroyed...
I don't mean to sound vengeful, but if you guys knew what a living hell these neighbors created for all of us, you would be dancing and singing as their "hillbilly motor home" pulls away! The neighborhood will be boring after they are gone as there won't be the weekly police visits and "mullet parade" with cars festooned with "Kentucky chrome" and NASCAR logos. You can't imagine the sense of relief we are all feeling as the worst neighbors in the world move out!

I was evicted once in college, but the house was no longer inhabitable so it wasn't a big loss.
It's always a relief when crappy neighbors leave |

We had some lousy tenants in our rental, nothing but problems, we had been thinking of evicting them and then, all of a sudden, they split! Of course they didn't pay this months rent and they broke their lease but were still thrilled. They're headed back to Michigan so look out...

I had neighbors that lived in a rental next to me that were so bad (how bad were they) I bought the house from the landlord just to get rid of them. The neighborhood threw a huge block party when they left.
Nice not to have cops here every other night. I know where you are coming from.

I hear you. Got a neighbor that I wish would go away. Jail only seems to hold him for a few days at the time. Habitual DUI'er, just got another about a month ago. Maybe a judge will finally give him his due punishment.

I'm there with you. Some friends of ours went home to find that someone had been shot in their driveway. The neighbors across the street are a different kind of problem than yours -- they hang out on the front porch and smoke pot while watching the kids, have loud parties, and occasionally shoot each other. It's pretty tough to get someone evicted in Maryland, apparently.

We had a weirdo for a neighbor. He started to rent out his basement to a pot head who promptly burnt down the guy's garage. The fire damaged the guy next door's hot rod bus / camper etc and was a pain in the arse for the rest of us in general.
When he built the new garage, he kept burning pressure treated wood and all sorts of other smelly **** in it. We all complained numerous times to no avail. Finally he sold the house and moved away. We had a big party after he was gone. I sold our house a year later and moved onto a farm out in the country - the closest neighbor (a cop) is 1/2 mile away and i could care less what they do over there. One of the other neighbors was shooting something the other day - not sure if it was cows, gophers, coyotes, deer, elk, moose... it doesn't really matter, they are 2 miles away and I could barely hear the gun shots.
