SNS ranked #3 by Popular Science!
The facility where I work (Spallation Neutron Source) was ranked as the #3 most epic science project by Popular Science magazine (in the latest August issue). Unfortunately, they got most of the technical details in the write-up incorrect and the picture they show isn't actually SNS, but what the heck.
Popular Science sent us a note explaining that we were ranked low on the "Wow factor" because no one outside of physicists really understood what we were doing. ![]() ![]()

I have a jar of assorted neutrons in the garage, if that would help.

If I order some neutrons, may they be used to keep birds and squirrels away from my blueberry bushes?

I pour the neutrons on the anthills here in Montana. All activity ceases within 10 minutes. I had it mixed up with malathian.

What is this? A science project in the USA that hasn't been defunded yet? Is there a military link or something?
