Never heard of them.
Their forum is pretty slow. This thread indicates they are a reseller, they don't directly control the equipment. Datacenter Evacuation - 24Shells Forums If I had to guess I'd say they resell for the former Planet Hosting. IMHO, Hosting is so cheap these days that it really does not pay to go with anyone other than one of the big outfits. YMMV

To be fair, that thread is from 2008.
I've heard they offer great customer service which has led some of my friends to believe they directly control their equipment. |

How much hosting do you need? I run quite a few domains off a linode.com machine - in 8 years I've only had one issue that was an upstream (from the hosted "box") one beyond their control...

Apologies in advance for responding to old thread. We just came across this thread in our search and wanted to clear our position.
We indeed hosted our servers in Theplanet datacenter between the period 2003-2011. Since 2012 we are operating our own datacenter space in New Jersey with our own network. All network and servers equipment are owned by 24Shells. Thank you for showing interest in our services. |
