Took me awhile to find my 91 318is. Even then, I paid too much after what I know now, having installed $1200 myself in parts alone since buying it. Still have another $800-1000 to get it where I want it.

I had a friend with one of those euro E21 323i's back in the '80s that had the big 3.3 six swapped into it. It would win most burn-out contests and was wicked fast. Cool cars.

Tell her that if the car was "special", she should have stored it correctly....Just like an old rusty gun, the rust kills the value.

How about $2k? I can be there tonight.

Are you serious? I don't know about E30, but I had E36 and drove many of them. They are not comparable to the old 911 but sure they are better than many cars out there.

Horrible handling car.

Hes talking about the E21. They have handling issues on the US spec cars. E30's are great handling cars.

My E30 was fantastic. 232k miles on the first clutch. Sold it at 244k miles and it still ran like a new car. No more reliable car in the world.

What are the handling issues on the E21? Seems fine to me. Struts up front, semi-trailing arms out back. It is exactly the same as a 911.

Correct! Great handling cars, very nimble when set-up.

I agree. Very fun to toss around the twisties at the moderate speeds the 1.8 liter can produce. Those little M10s are stout (Formula 1 block ) but some Megasquirt would really wake it up. Too bad for smog visual inspection.
