I was always able to properly park my dually Dodge crew cab truck, and even managed to keep a Unimog in the lines.

Parking spots are about 3/4 that width where I live.

The wife might sing the door open on the car park in the next stall.

I see it every day, a lot of people don't get the "painted line" concept and if you hit the horn to warn them, they give you the finger!!!

Should my wife pass before me (and she knows this) I will bump my truck into their little $hit box and push then into incoming traffic...

I park my RV at the far end of the Supermarket/Walmart parking lot. Yeah, it really takes up four parking spots.

OK, I get it now. The pic has some glare in it and upon first glance I thought that was a wall on the right side of the car. Now I see that it was actually another parking spot. D-Bag. ;)

It's not the space. It's what the action means to people.

I've been reading the thread with amusement. I think you have hit on the root cause. When you do something different (park away from other cars, take two spaces, etc.) you are more likely to get an unwanted reaction from certain types. You imply that you don't think others will be responsible, and therefore (as mentioned) you are better than they are. They don't like that put in their face and to them that's what you are doing. A question might be, what is the optimum parking-out-of-the-way distance (staying in the lines or not) to avoid unwanted attention? Otherwise leave the fancy car at home or use it only during trips where you don't have to stop in risky places.

A bit OT but parking related - someone parked a car in our driveway. Turns out there is not much you can do about it unless you give the tow company a credit card for any expense they might incur. The Sheriff will not be responsible for the tow because it is not on public property, etc. etc. The rules vary somewhat by state and county. We were thinking someone we know could have parked there thinking we were not using the house at the time - the Sheriff would not give us the name of the owner. Anyway sort of a long story and you can read on the web about this happening to others.

I think you're trying to read too much into the mind of the parker.

If I leave a note, my objective is to alert the perp he/she is inconsiderate via their parking style. How they want to react is up to them. I'm of the belief if no one comments, they will probably repeat that behavior - normal child-like behavior. Actually, my preprinted note addresses the perp as an a-hole and the details of their parking transgressions to gain their attention, but that's neither here nor there. :)

That sucks dude. I had a gent park his expensive NSX in a handy capped spot at a home depot store and take up 2 lanes, he and his bimbo got out of the car to go inside, I looked at him and shook my head, he just grinned and went inside. He had no handicapped sticker or any thing, he was just a turkey......http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1481305401.jpgTotally uncool!

The holiday season should be one of charity and selfless giving, not the opposite!

Not the worst offender, but I thought I'd post due to the "big shot" Illinois General Assembly plates. Is it really that hard to center a car in a spot?
