Corvette ZR-1 crash video ***NSFW Language***

Browsing through the YouTubes today I ran across this little ditty. I want to give a warning about the colorful language on the video. Language you might expect to hear if you car was involved in a crash with a ZR-1!

What do you think happened? Power-on understeer?

Michael

It looks like the road splits in two with the left side curving left? The Vette might have tried to make it across the lanes.

That video is making its rounds on the internet very quickly! No pics of cars or pissed off 300C SRT8 owner after the crash though?

Power on oversteer? Reminds me of that Viper that went right in front of a car at VIR.

I'd like to know what happened before the video? It seems odd to me that we only see the part where the crash happens. Was there a bad case of road rage before the video starts.

When you slow the video down, I notice a couple of things. The driver is looking forward right before the wreck and looking to the right during the wreck. Doesn't that seem odd? I would be looking at the car I was hitting and trying to minimize the impact. Peoples reactions are different. I guess I wonder what he was thinking because he doesn't look left.

Not enough to tell a darned thing. I'd sure like to know why he was videotaping instead of avoiding, tho...
I'd be trying to get the hell out of the way...then let him go his merry way.

Because the passenger was along for the ride and wasn't driving?

It looks to me as if the Corvette driver was trying to tune left, and the other car was trying to go straight. The road does appear to go both ways at that point. Not sure who's tp b;ame/

This might be it.

It look like the lead car was videoing the vette coming up and either the vette expected the lead car to turn left as he came from behind or wanted to pass the car and exit.

Is there not two lanes, with the right lane merging?

Not enough to judge anything...other than I'd be trying to avoid the 'vette...let the crazies go, altho the Vette driver may not have been the only crazy in this case.

Damned selective bit of video...

Is that beer spilled on the window/armrest?

My WAG: knucklehead Vette driver gassed it, lost the rear to the right even though he was trying to go straight, and came across the bow of the camera car. But hey, if he can afford a ZR-1 he can afford to fix my car.

heres the cameraman commentary on youtube....

"ZR1 hit us in our SRT8 300 while showing off... We got lucky having it on video lol

OK, here is how our morning started... We were headed up to Romona to play some paintball. We met up at the driver's house to drop of my car and car pool (thank gawd I didnt drive mine lol). Went to "STARBUCKS' for a coffee for the 30 minute drive. As we left the starbucks we spotted a corvette ZR1 near the Qualcom Stadium. I (the horrible camera man) was excited to see a ZR1. As we were headed down to the I15, we saw the vette behind us. I was immediatly excited that the car was gonna follow us onto the freeway. We decided to get in the carpool lane and let the ZR1 pass us. Thats right, we just want to hear the exhaust and watch him launch. I had my phone ready to watch him pass. Being in front of him, he did not know we had camera or know our intentions. He decided to show off and floor it. We got a little more than what we bargained for. What the camera shows is what I literally saw. We were def not expecting the ZR1 to LOSE control and go right into us. And damnit, I spilled my caramel macchiato, but not denying the jizz part lol Enjoy the video, we are having a blast watching this go viral. So much more to this story, but what would be the fun in sharing the whole thing... Everyone jacking this: You watched it, we lived it

Cast:
Driver - WTF!? WTF!? R U KIDDING ME!?!
Camera man (me) - SILENT SCREAM lol
GuyInTheBackseat - Backseat SCREAM
ZR1 driver - Good sport about the whole thing

*******Posting an aftermath video once we reach 150k views on youtube alone... We will have WRITTEN and a description of how the 45 minutes after went. Including words exchanged and what the ZR1 driver had to say ....*******"

right now the youtube clip has 83,000 views....

Seems like it was as I thought...plenty of blame to go around. The good thing...nobody hurt.
