Where to Buy Parts Vintage Hamilton Beach

This is a Hamilton Beach Model 30 Milkshake Mixer (or malt mixer - depends on who you talk to).

It's been in the family for a very long time. I recall it showing up 35 years ago, but I think it was my grandfather's prior to that. I pulled it out of the packing boxes where it's been for the last 20 years. The stainless cup is gone. Not only do you obviously need the cup for mixing, it activates a safety switch which shuts off the mixer when you pull the cup loose. So you really need THE right cup.

It cleaned up pretty decently. Where can I get a cup for this? I also wouldn't mind replacing the cord (two prong) but that's not a deal breaker. Need the cup.

By the way it works perfectly (tripped the switch to activate). I don't mind spending a little bit on it to get exactly the right part. Highly sentimental.

Thanks guys!

angela

I was actually just looking into this last week.
There used to be a vendor out of Chicago(?) that made original spec replacement parts for hamilton beach appliances - I bought a new set of beaters for my mom's old mixer about 10 years ago after my dad jammed them with a wooden spoon - but they closed up shop just a few years later.
There is also a section on the hamilton beach website where you enter the model or serial number of the machine and it gives you a list of replacement parts available.

Ebay, amazon, and surprisingly enough Etsy, seemed to be the most popular places for these things to change hands.

Not sure if this fits your particular model:

Graham,

I've got an ebay watch on one right now with a spare cup. I'll buy the whole thing to get the cup.

But there won't be a substitution. My father adopted me when I was 12. When we blended the family, this mixer came along. He used to make us all milkshakes. They were the best ones in the world. Kind of really helped that early bonding process.

He died last month. So you see, another mixer won't do. I fix this one no matter what.

Angela is this what you need?

Brown-Halco is not the greatest SS, bit it is okay.

This is a pretty good place for parts.

Yeah! Two hours on that one! Really digging the original Hamilton cup. The other is just a bonus. Watching! Thanks!

My In-laws have that same mixer in their reproduction malt shop. Same color even!

Very sorry to hear about your Dad. Your story about growing up is very touching. I have an adopted daughter and it touched my heart.

Well, we'll just have to find on for you then.
There were so many of those things around there must be thousands of those cups somewhere. eBay is a great source for parts for the odd and unusual.

I just won the ebay auction posted above - so I have the cup. THANKS GUYS!

Dad died on the 20th of July. He was in ICU for 14 days, then home for seven days of hospice. I took care of all the arrangements, got the family sorted out and then just dropped off the map for a couple of weeks. I've just gotten in the last couple of days where I wake up without the crushing grief. Sometimes I make it hours before it washes over me. It wasn't like that the first 3 plus weeks. Felt like an elephant sitting on my chest everyday all day long. Now at least, the elephant takes a walk now and then.

I've got a couple of things that belonged to him. The first is the car that we built for him (thread below- it's long - real long). The car has always stayed with me. I keep it in a storage unit. Right now, I can't even go by and look at it let alone drive it. This little mixer and a steering wheel make up the remaining items. The steering wheel is the original one from his Freightliner. He put about 2.5 million miles on it before he replace the wheel. The truck got sold with the new wheel. I've got the old one, duct tape and all.

Those of you who have foster or adopted children. Don't think for a second that you are not everything to them. You are. Just like my father was everything to me. Love is as thick as blood can ever be.

Love, Lies and Larceny... - MonteCarloSS.com Message Board

This is my Dad on the day we delivered his car back to him. Handsome fellow, isn't he?

Angela, I remember reading that thread and was moved by the emotion and love that poured out of your words and actions. It was and is obvious how much he meant to you. Sorry for your loss.

I've got an all cream colored one (cream colored motor housing too), no safety switch, with original stainless cup. Like new condition, including the cord, and works perfectly. Don't know how long it's been in my family. Been in my kitchen cupboard for years, never used it. No sentimental value, but I'll keep it.

Edit: just saw the pic of your dad. My condolences. He's a handsome gentleman.

i wasn't the one that dropped it, my son did & he hid it in the cabinet thinking i wouldn't find out.
I pulled it out and the head was dangling from the cord that runs inside it, like it was decapitated

Angela,

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss of your dad.
My sincere condolences.

Now that you seem to have found your piece, I’ll politely hijack your thread.

I have a Hamilton Beach Nº 32 Extractor.

As I recall, my late mom said her parents bought this while she was in boarding school (St. Timothy’s ’30-’34) or college (Vassar ’34-’38).
It has been in regular use since new.

About 20 years ago one of the kids mis-aligned the strainer and the Bakelite ‘funnel’ was broken.
(Similar incident to Pelican looneybin’s above.)
As you can see, my 20-year hose-clamp & rubber band ‘fix’ works well.

So … my challenge on your thread will be to find a replacement ‘funnel’.

Tonight I’ll search the above links.

Angela, again I’m sorry for your loss.
My dad is 97 and still in good health and mind but every day is a new day.

Best,
Grady
