Is parking downtown Portland a problem?
Driving there Saturday for some r&r. Debating which car to take. Tacoma or forester. Mpg is a push but subie takes super. Truck is quieter and more comfy.

Not much of a problem. Street parking reasonably findable, might circle a couple times but usually will find something within 1-2 blocks of your destination.
You want to do a PP PDX get-together? I know we've some local Pelicans who'd like to meet you. Post on the PAC NW forum. I'll come. |

Parking is typically not a big deal. If you are unable to wait for street parking to open up for you, the Smart Park Garages are pretty reasonable and many stores will give you a few hours of parking with purchase.

If you have a little extra time the Art Museum has some gorgeous cars to gawk at:

I've never had a problem parking my 3/4 ton pickup in Portland. I much prefer the 944 if I'm parking inside a tight garage.

I saw the art museum piece recently. Amazing. SL 300 that raced in the 1955 LeMans. Jag XK SS that belonged to a famous Porsche Driver. The Porsche that won the Mexican ______ _______ (I forgot, but damn, it's famous!) race!
Spectacular! It has my 100% recommendation. Larry Got some poor pics on my blackberry. Haven't posted them yet. |

If any of you have time SOVREN (my vintage race group) is running at PIR all weekend and the ABFM will be there at the same time. Big car weekend. The club members are hitting the Museum show on Saturday night. Be aware that the Pearl district is packed over labor day weekend with a big art show.
