Spoiler alert

I think the fellas are in a pickle. Hank finally caught a break.
I'm going to miss Mike. I liked the way he dealt with Walt.

snbush67 08-27-2012 05:06 PM

"Walt...Shut up and let me die in peace."

Oops correction:

“Shut the fuch up, and let me die in peace.”

Brando 08-27-2012 05:23 PM

I don't think we'll see the end of Mike - too much involvement. Also glad Hank caught a break. As for Jesse, he's too far in to just walk away.

Baz 08-27-2012 06:02 PM

I thought bringing in Todd to take Jesse's place as a cook was pretty interesting. He seems to be catching on.

I keep thinking of the preview of Mr. White in fugitive-mode in that first episode...will be interesting to see how things play out next week.

Two more episodes, right?

I think next Sunday is the last episode for this year.
Next year is the final eight episodes.

I'm don't usually get into things like this, but am enjoying Breaking Bad. It is fairly well done and the writing is top notch.

A very good review of "Breaking Bad" in the current New Yorker.

Best line: descibing Lydia as a "helicopter mom missing a blade"...

“Breaking Bad” Review : The New Yorker

McLovin 08-28-2012 10:45 AM

I've liked Breaking Bad. Watched it from Season 1 on Netflix, and am watching it currently.

It's been a very good show and a great concept. But, I think it's being run a bit past its natural end, and a lot of stuff is being recycled just to squeeze another season out of a hit.

For example, I just don't know how many more "tough guy" meetings in the middle of the desert I can take. And Jesse trying to get out of the biz and walt trying to keep him in, Jesse trying to get paid. Last week's episode, while good, had a bit of a Groundhog Day feel to me.

Next season, being the last, has the potential to be really great.

Mc Lovin...seriously, the way Walt played that whole thing, come on, it wasn't just another tough guy meeting... sometimes xbox connect, or Microsoft go to meeting doesn't have the same effect, and the cost of a plane to jersey just to have a sit down, well those expenses add up and with the DEA tracking people, perhaps the desert is best suited for the occasion.SmileWavy

Season finale in progress........:p

red-beard 09-02-2012 07:34 PM

No deatils please. I can't watch for a couple of hours...

Baz 09-03-2012 07:57 AM

Is it OK to discuss now?

I'll start us off....

That Lydia is pretty hot...wow. ;)

red-beard 09-03-2012 12:07 PM

I've watched it now.

"I'm Out".

What does one TRILLION dollars look like? (calculations & dimensions)

The stack looked bigger than a standard pallet (40 inches by 48 inches). It looked more like 6 feet by 6 feet and about 2.5 feet high.

Based on the calculations on the website, I'd say they have a maximum of $200M. Probably less, since they have a mix of bills. With the mix, lets say they have 1/2, or about $100M

Nostril Cheese 09-03-2012 12:53 PM

Took Hank long enough to figure it out. It's not like he had miles of circumstantial evidence or anything...

Baz 09-03-2012 01:27 PM

Here is the inscription/dedication Hank saw:

“To my other favorite W.W. It’s an honour working with you. Fondly G.B"

That book, Walt Whitman's "Leaves of Grass", was a gift from Gretchen (maiden name) Black. A gift to Walt when they worked at Gray Matter. Walter WHITE + Gretchen BLACK = GRAY Matter. They used to be romantically involved.

What the DEA has is Gale's lab journal with the inscription/dedication: "To W.W. My Star, My Perfect Silence."

A heck of an ending...now it will be 10 long months before we continue and see what Hank does with this new revelation. A lot of possibilities as well as considerations.

Makes you wonder about that preview of Walt on the run - a fugitive in the first episode this season

The 2 best parts of last night's season finale were the prison hits with that cool background music and the meth segment with "Crystal Blue Persuasion" playing.

Superb editing!!!

I haven't been as interested in a drama since "Lost" I will be seriously pissed if these characters are all already dead!!

Sorry.

The proper name is DUCK tape... even down here in the states.

It's made from 'canvas duck' fabric.

If you put it on a duct, all you get is a sticky goo mess.

I know, some purveyors use the name duct, but it ain't right.

74-911 08-11-2013 08:23 PM

"Tread Lightly" ?? this is gonna get interesting.

Baz 08-11-2013 09:04 PM

It's a great show.

The best of all the AMC dramas.....better than WD and MM.

Always has been.

Sorry to see it go but am looking forward to seeing how it is done.

What was that Walt pulled off the back of the outlet cover? Looked like a fuse.

quicksix 08-11-2013 09:15 PM

That was his stash of ricin

msk1986911 08-12-2013 04:12 AM

Excellent ending. Will the grim reaper get Walt before Hank does? It will be interesting to see how Hank deals with Skylar's involvement in the whole scheme.

Mike

onlycafe 08-12-2013 06:18 AM

i kind of hated to see mike go.

snbush67 08-12-2013 07:27 PM

Walt should charge Hank with theft and get a restraining order.

Cancer back? I don't like that plot mechanism. Sounds like the 'easy' way out, writing wise.

And did anyone else feel like the whole confrontation in Hank's garage was... odd? Like.. I feel like it shouldn't be going down that calmly. I wanted hank to bust Walt up and cuff him and march him straight into the feds office, or something big. This whole 'lets stand around and talk about family' just irked me the wrong way. The threat with 'treading lightly' was a good bit, but... sorta empty.

Jesse... man jesse is losing his s*$% man. I'm really interested in his side of things.

I know how this needs to end. It needs to end with everyone dead except Jesse and Walt and then Jesse needs to shoot Walt in the head. Cut to black. Done. End. Credits.

Any other ending and I think I will be disappointed.

Brian 162 08-19-2013 06:49 PM

How about Lydia last night?
