My best buddy passed......

I know a few people may think this stupid....but I lost my best buddy last week. I made the mistake of letting her out at dawn and a crap eating scavenger coyote grabbed her and jumped over a six foot wall.

I was ten feet away and I'm kicking myself. After my divorce and meltdown....she was my best bud. Sasha was 10 lbs of dynamite.

She listened me, never asked for money, LIKED riding in my ride with the top down.....

There were many reminders of her in my home.....
Crap....I'm crying.....I made a decision and adopted a rescue. I named her "Tasha"....

She's the little guy on the left....

Adopt a rescue....they deserve a chance.....

If anyone cares, I'll post updates on "T"

not your fault JB. not your fault. good luck with the new hire.

daepp 10-12-2011 08:25 PM

Dude - so sorry. That sucks.

pm me about a local Nellie Gale (underdog) Rambo that took care of the cayote.

They need to be taken care of.

dtw 10-12-2011 08:31 PM

Mike I don't think that is stupid at all. Sorry about little Sasha. You seem like you are way overdue for a good turn, hope Tasha helps you get there.

dtw 10-12-2011 08:32 PM

Also it looks like in a few short months, Tasha will be eating coyotes for breakfast.

Wow, that's really horrible. I'm so sorry. We have a mini doxie, Sherlock, and my mom has his brother Fritz.

I'm really sorry for your loss.

I'd love to hear all about Tasha and more pics.

The boys (Sherlock foreground and Fritz background) will eat a treat in memory of Sasha.

That sucks.. thats' why I kill any coyote I see if I have the chance

masraum 10-12-2011 09:33 PM

We got them from my sister in law when she was going through a divorce. She used to show them and had 11 at one point.

Sherlock is fairly mellow, but will bark and put on a show. I did catch him with a rabbit cornered once. He had a tuft of rabbit fur in his mouth when I finally got him. He's slow to warm up to most people and likes women better than men. He'd lay around all day long getting attention if it was up to him. He used to be a little more aggressive, but has had back surgery. I think that keeps him from being as aggressive as he was when he was younger.

Fritz is a little bruiser and is also slow to warm up to new people. He's got a loud mouth and is not afraid of anything. My mom is working to get him more socialized with people and other animals. He's getting better.

They are both very affectionate with the people they know and love attention.

Sorry to hear about your loss. Can't imagine going through that.

Joe Bob 10-12-2011 09:37 PM

Steve....really nice looking pups. Long haired dapple/piebalds and wire hairs are gorgeous. I don't envy your salon bills. Curious as to the tempermant....

I've had pure breeds in the past and let my kids do shows. Reds, Wires and blues...the exotics are beyond me. 2 sets of births disrupted my house to no end....

The EX and the kids have them in the split....I just couldn't justify the the 1-1.5K for the best of breed at this time of my life.

My Momz BFF wants to pick up one of the males.

It ain't the background it's the heart. The dregs seem to have more heart.

"T" has taken two days to get her tail up and wag it. She hasn't left my side since I brought her home. Of course it could be that I've been feeding her.

How can someone bang on a small animal......?

According to my source, the Sig Other got bent because his pure breed got out and got nailed by whatever.....

He whacked the hell out his DAUGHTER as the responsible party AND the mutts....I saw the rest in court papers....

I've yet to hear Tasha bark.....scary.

Oh man RIP Sasha the wonder dog. Sorry, Mike.

Hard-Deck 10-12-2011 10:13 PM

I had a coyote come up on my porch and grab my Yorkie when I was stationed in Seattle. Spry little dog got away; had bite punctures in her neck. I'm so sorry that your little buddy didn't make it :(

enzo1 10-12-2011 10:35 PM

very very sorry:(

pwd72s 10-12-2011 10:38 PM

Damn, Mike...so sorry to hear this.

PETA would object...but there really should be a bounty on coyotes...

sc_rufctr 10-12-2011 11:51 PM

Sorry to hear about you loosing your dog.

There's nothing like a loyal dog. It's never easy when they go.

billybek 10-13-2011 03:19 AM

Sorry to hear about your dog.
Coyotes are opportunistic and smart animals. Some people we know lost their little dog to coyotes and they were always very careful when letting the dogs out.
I won't let the Border Collie off leash in the dark. For one it is hard to see her and I see the coyotes during our early morning walks. There was a few cougar sightings last year in the park by our home.
Good on ya for rescuing another dog!

GH85Carrera 10-13-2011 04:23 AM
