shadowjack1 10-13-2011 06:23 AM

God, that really must hurt to have a good friend go that way. Very sorry to hear this.

billh1963 10-13-2011 06:26 AM

Can you poison the coyotes? Antifreeze, poisoned meat, something? I'd kill every coyote I could.

So sorry to hear this. I know how this hurts, having lost a beloved pet to a coyote three years ago. I still miss him - his name was Marty, a Maine Coon cat who, like your poor little friend, got outside when he shouldn't have been outside.

What's worse, though, is that the moment the people in the city and county decide to get off their butts to do something about the packs of coyotes that wander our area, the animal people, including the dog people, go absolutely nuts and cause such a stink that nobody dares touch the things. It's incredible. Apparently it's OK for them to threaten children and kill domestic animals. Grr!

Sorry to hear this. Good on you for the rescue.

My SIL used to show, she had 11 at one point. I think she was primarily long haired dapples. When she divorced, we ended up with these two and my MIL got another.

They are both pretty fearless and loud mouths. Sherlock had some back problems and got surgery. He doesn't seem as fearless as he was before. I caught him with a rabbit cornered in our porch once. When I got to him he had a tuft of fur in his mouth. They are a little slow to warm up to new people. They become very attached and love to get attention. Sherlock would be a lap dog and get pets all day long. Fritz is always by my mother's side, but LOVES to go for walks.

How can someone bang on a small animal......?

According to my source, the Sig Other got bent because his pure breed got out and got nailed by whatever.....

He whacked the hell out his DAUGHTER as the responsible party AND the mutts....I saw the rest in court papers....

I've yet to hear Tasha bark.....scary.
I have no patience for someone that takes it out on animals. I'd have no mercy.

We have a rescue mutt. She didn't make a sound when we got her. Once she realized that Sherlock wasn't getting punished for barking, she started.

Still not a yap out of Tasha as of yet....coupla piddles no craps....

Hard-Deck 10-13-2011 07:50 AM

I've heard crushed lightbulb in hamburger meat does the deed.

Sorry man. To those that say we should protect coyotes I say shoot them instead. When 6 foot fence isn't enough, we need to get rid of these marauders.

Unfortunately they are protected.

Glad you climbed back on your horse.

I think our previous generations had wiser leadership than the current one. I still remember when coyotes were a "shoot on sight" animal.

Today we are fed a load of B.S. about it is we who are invading their territory, that it's okay for pets to be killed & eaten.

Luckily, I live in a rural area where sheep are pastured every spring. That means Coyotes are shot on sight...legally!

rouxroux 10-13-2011 08:34 AM
