I have a related question. Farts were the norm a few times daily. I have no idea what makes me fart. Never kept track. I have slowed down a little bit now, but I really miss letting the big one go. It feels like I have let out something evil and it feels pretty damn good. My system is now clean. I am sure that is not true, but it feel good letting them go. Any thoughts?

It only gets worse as you get older. I survive on a Phillips Probiotic capsule every morning and 4 oz of active culture kefir in the am and in the pm. I sometimes have some active culture yogurt too. Still, I blow the covers off the bed the first thing in the AM.

My wife always blames the beer and she's half right.....the beer give me gas. If I drink the heavier beers ranging from a brown ale to a stout, I can clear the room.

i drink a glass of kefir every day.
does it help? i have no idea. i like kefir and yogurt. once after a motorcycle accident that required surgery. a hot nurse came in and asked, "have you been farting?" i replied, "nope, that wasnt me"..she realized she worded the question wrong, and told me..farting is a good sign. a sign that my system is coming back on line. i replied, "well, ok..that might have been me" and we laughed...

My old man farts continuously, and giggles like a school girl every time. Its like it brings him some kind of happiness. He doesn't even try to hide it. Geez, I really don't want to end up like that. Its so rude and disgusting. At least if I have to do it, I'm going to make an effort to be discreet. I need to check into the yogurt thing.

Kind of strange. I find I have less gas when I do most of the cooking rather than when my wife cooks. Not good, since I think it would be more encouraging for her to insist on cooking if it was the other way around.

Ahhh, I remember those days of clearing out the room and saying to myself, "what a bunch of fluffs".
Eating spicy foods, pizza, beans, beer took its toll, wife finally knocks me on the head and says take this....I now take HCL with pepsin capsules bought at the health food stores. Its that simple, no more gas to light a match too, stomach happy, wife happy and people around me very happy. I take one capsule with a meal that would be spicy and always take one with meat, helps to digest that stuff so it doesn't ferment inside. After awhile you will know want and when to take it. Seems that yrs ago the drug co. know that the simple stuff doesn't make them any money so they have to add this and that, make it a patent prescription and get a ton of money off you.
