extra reports

Wow, so this is what it looks like in off topic.

OK, here's the deal: In August I was shopping for a car and bought a subscription to a certain vehicle history reporting service I won't name. I'm entitled to 5 different history reports. I used 3 and then bought a car. I'm entitled to 2 more reports, but the subscription expires in a couple of weeks and then I lose the last 2 reports I'm entitled to. I'd like to use up the last 2 reports, if someone wants to suggest a couple of VINs. If this is in violation of Pelican's terms, then moderator please delete this post and accept my apologies, but I think this is OK since I've paid for the reports and I couldn't find anything in the fine print forbidding it.

Just PM me with a VIN and your email.

Try it. I dare you.
Heh, heh. Sorry. I've just had so many "interesting" conversations with DMV officials about my car's serial numbers. Usually they just can't get over a 5 digit VIN. "No, I need the serial number sir, not the mileage."
I was crossing back into the US from Canada once when the border guy wanted my car's papers. I didn't have what he asked for, so he started looking for the serial number. "It's 56801," I told him, rather casually (way too casually it turned out). Bad move. The only people who know their car's serial numbers are car nuts and car thieves. So he went through the car quite thoroughly, called Big Brother, and came back after about an hour and said to me, "Sir, your other Porsche is 56801, this one is 82162." After I got over being pissed at myself for confusing the serial numbers, I realized that he never asked a single question about ME.

The VIN on my old Aston Martin DB4 was 438L "L" for left hand drive.
