The disgusting French - again.

While we were beating the French in the Rugby Wold Cup final one of their guys intentionally eye gouged our All Blacks captain, risking blinding him for life.

Then during their drinking sessions yesterday they saw a photographer taking pics so they threatened him and took his SD card. Another photographer; they spat in his face. Shame the photographer wasn't me as spitting in this country is considered assault and we are allowed to defend ourselves however we see appropriate.

I know France is a socialist country and lower class behaviour is the norm, but surely they can behave to some degree while representing their country.

PS - In all the times I've spent in France, I've never had anyone pull any "low class behavior" on me. So YMMV.

Bill, no offense, but I've seen some Aussies do some rather over the top things in my day. I almost got dragged into a brawl in Barcelona after a group of Aussie guys attacked a club owner and his crew because they didn't like the admission policy at the door.

Of course, way down at the bottom of the Barrel we come to the Americans....dear lord those people are crass.......

However, last night Sky Sport show Reunion screened video which showed Rougerie clashing heads with McCaw in the 77th minute before dragging his fingers across the openside's face.

Reunion panellist Grant Nisbett said the images were "damning", while former All Black halfback Jon Preston said it was "indefensible".

My close friend Dave Wong (he was Mr. New Zealand years ago) played ruggers all his life. The game is great but is very nasty. He told me some stories that happen on the pitch that would basically be assault in this country!

The French are a good team but the All Blacks were better.

They consistanly do this sort of thing. The last time they were here French player Bastareaud claimed he had be stopped in the street and assaulted by three Moaris for being French. It turned out he and some other in his team picked up some slappers (wiki: promiscuous woman) and lost the fight as to who got to sleep with them. The whole world looked upon NZ in shame that international visitors had been treated so badly. The police looked into it and said to Basteraud "You tell the truth or we will".

Ha, I've spent enough time in Paris to know and understand the French. Don't walk down the banks of the River Siene without watching your feet; you might step in it.

The Kiwis have had a grudge for the French since they conducted a terrorist attack on the Green Peace boat in Auckland Hbr. For good reason!

Paris =/= the rest of France. Surely you must know that.

Also, you're clearly showing bias against the French, so just say it like it is.

PPS - I don't recall anyone starting any anti-British threads based on Rooney's antics or any anti-American threads based on Michael Vick's antics. Frankly, that would just be as absurd as to what you're doing.

LOL, quite true. But I did say "Vive la France" to any and all French supporters in the bars and resturants over the last three weeks.

Umm, well actually, they nearly won. Our kicker Dan Carter was off injured and the replacement Piri Weepu seemed to psych himself out and missed everything. And the French got their act together in time for the final game. Prior to that they had been infighting and even mutinied against their own coach.

I don't think the French almost won, I think the All Blacks almost lost, in no small part to Weepu. And, (obviously) a team that makes it to the finals does not suck, but in this case . . .

I've spent plenty of time in France, Paris and elsewhere. I find the French pretty much like everyone else. Nicer in little towns, hit and miss in big cities, tourists are cash cows everywhere in the world. As for rugby - pretty rough sport, but then there's stick assaults in hockey, spearing in American football, elbows in basketball - these are contact sports. Gouging an eye is out of line, though.

FYI the All Blacks are NZ I think, not OZ.

I have. You were the guy that mention a lady locking their door when they saw an Asian man coming. They saw this Asian man and they f with all our train tickets after I wrote the f ing date down for him along with a bunch white Americans in our small group.
