Got me a new movie "The Lone Ranger"

It finally got Green Lighted. Shooting starts in February, in New Mexico, Utah, Arizona and Colorado. Johnny Depp is going to be Tonto. A few others starting in the Spring and Summer in the UK and probably China. We're making 12 of them over the next 18-24 months.

Congrats. Hugh; That sounds like a busy schedule you are into there.
Lone Ranger, Cool, J Depp could do some fun things with Tonto.

Cheers Richard

I guess David Caradine wasn't available as Tonto. Who's playing the LR, Denzel Washington?

I've seen the episode of Veronica Mars he did, but that's it. And given a choice between being called Armie and Armand, I'd go with the latter. As they say, the rich are different (especially when it comes to nicknames).

I think George Clooney and Johnny D would have made a great team.

Armie......we shall see.

Johnny Depp as Tonto? I have a problem using a non-Native American for that part. Seems like a step back like when whites painted their faces black.

Congrats, Hugh!

Don't know how many of you have heard this hilarious story about Clinton Moore, the guy who played The Lone Ranger in the original series, but if you haven't, you are in for a rare treat. Jay Thomas tells it every year at Christmas on Letterman... enjoy:

Armie Hammer was great in The Social Network.

I had hear The Lone Ranger was having financial issues, have they sorted that out?

JP as Tonto is another issue and rude of me to point it out. I apologize.

Congrats on the cool gig, Hugh. I love my job but I think you have more fun in yours.

I've always loved the Lone Ranger since I watched on TV as a kid. I'll see it but think Tonto should be a native American. Now days I'm wondering if there would be some comments from the PC world since "Tonto" means stupid in spanish. Ah, the good old days when people didn't look for something to complain about in everything.
