Time withut a shower
I went to boarding school in Ireland in the 60's and played all the sports, hurling,
football, handball, table tennis etc. We practiced pretty much every day. Fall term, between early September and Christmas, we had one shower. This was the norm, we also had no showers when we played away matches.

The Irish priests that taught me in high school also seldom showered. Wow - on a hot September day...
A buddy of mine was drafted in the Vietnam war. He spent 91 days without a shower or a real meal. Everyone above in rank was killed. He contracted malaria and was home at the end of hiss 6th month. I never met a guy more thankful for a hot shower!
