there are a couple local industrial surplus suppliers I'm going to check with before ordering anything.
id like to use the 80/20 stuff as its already got a finished look....
there are a few lay back gaming seats which for the bill and are cheap........my goal is to be able to remove the wheel/pedals and slid it under my entertainment center........so will have to design the uprights to fold flat...shouldn't be to difficult, just want the end result to be rock solid...

80/20 also has a ebay store. I checked this option out before I made my sim rig.

I'm sold on those adjustable CSR pedals and now on my wish list. I see they are compatible with the x-box but not sure exactly which Fanatec wheels will go with the x-box.

When I acquired the GT3 RS wheel it only mentioned it for the PS3 and PC. Funny though because I run two wireless x-box 360 joystick controllers on a laptop PC running Win 7 Ultimate for like Madden NFL or as a long remote mouse or TV, etc. Downloaded X-padder for free and also the free MS Developers Compatibility program. Ridiculous how nice this giveaway stuff is. The X-padder guy is cool to give it away but does sell the version for Win 7 however you don't need that if you get the MS freebie. Makes me now wonder if the wheel can be made to work with x-box.

The GT3 RS wheel mutiple buttons can be set-up to any configuration you like. There is also a plug-in file for the built in digital read-out on the wheel (ex: gear identification, etc.).

I was just ready to order the CSR pedals and found this special TODAY only. You have to register at 911wheel.com and go from there.

Another funny tradition: Cyber Monday

Submitted by Thomas on Mon, 11/28/2011 - 09:39.

I love the American innovators to make people buy something. After Black Friday comes "Cyber Monday".

As our Black friday offer was such a huge success we are also offering a special which is valid just today:

Porsche 911 GT3 RS Cyber Monday Edition

You get:

•Porsche 911 GT3RS V2
•CSR Elite Pedals (yes, the ones with load cell)
•Porsche Shifter set
We get:

Just 249,95 USD / EUR instead of the regular 359,85. This is a discount of 30,5%!

Let's see when we will get a Pink Saturday or Space Tuesday.

And because discounts are great in the long run as well, we are permanently lowering the price of the Porsche 911 Carrera Wheel to 99,95€ in Europe. (until supply lasts)

I'll second the Fanatec wheels.

I own a Logitech Driving force GT, and have used the G25 and G27's, as well as the Xbox FF wheel, and I have to say, the Fanatec wheels are orders of magnitude nicer to use.

I personally picked up a Fanatec Porsche 911 Turbo S 'Pure Edition' and freaking LOVE it.

It can be used on PC, PS3 as well as Xbox, so now I can sell my DF GT and Xbox wheel as well!

One I used at an event last summer had a 40". I'm thinking 32 might be the smallest youd want to go, but that's just me.

I bought a g27 used and it works well on F1 2010. However on gt5 it's useless. No matter what I do with the settings the forcefeedback is totally unrealistic and you just cannot countersteer correctly. I've done everything with the settings but no joy. If you play gt5 at all, I would pass on the g27.

Unless mine is defective somehow? Although like I said, it works great for F1 2010.

Check into a program called Real Feel. Some of the race sim forums might be able to advise of a fix. I joined a yahoo group and without the 'yahoo's if you know what I mean. Terrific guys and they helped a novice like me set-up I was on the grid in short time.

Real Feel is for pc based sims. It wont work for GT5. Gt5 is really limited on the wheel settings for any brand of wheel.

warning-
On my last computer, I was using a Logictec Momo FF, and graphical gliches would flash on the screen. I kept using it. That computer eventually died.

For the current computer I bought another Momo FF, and the same thing would happen(at a certain position of the steering wheel). I'm not sure if it was shorting through the USB cable but the thing went into the trash.

For some time, I pondered the thought of a projector and portable screen for those race weekends at the campground drinking and racing times.

Since I just use a laptop for everything and have GPL and R-factor installed, Porsche wheel and Logi G25 peds and my dorky looking AB roller exercise chair, it might qualify as nerd on the pole.
