"Tis the season for.... Crappy music!
Sure, Christmas music is nice.
-But- Why is there so much bad Christmas music? Seems like anybody who has ever put out a record has to do some Christmas songs, and so many of them are really poorly done. Yet, the masses eat it up simply because it's Christmas music. I expect my music to be performed and engineered to a very high standard. With so much great music available, why would I listen to crap? Why does the quality go so far downhill for the Christmas season? [/rant] |

I like Christmas music......to a point.

Another reason why I don't step foot in a retail store between Thanksgiving and New Year's is because of the endless loops of horrible remakes of Xmas classics. There ought to be a law....

I always liked this one...
Thoughtful, a bit cynical but at its core pretty true to what the holiday is all about. Too much Christmas music is simply cliched-out, recycled crap intended to put me in the mood to go charge up too much Chinese-made crap. I don't buy into the hype. It's a time for relaxing, spending time with family and renewing one's faith - not for pumping dollars into WalMart or Target. I always liked ELP's stuff anyway - enjoy.
