Something for those who get traffic stops.....
Since I live in the land of maximum money generation and I am out at night mainly coming from the classes I teach I decided I needed a way to cover my butt in case of a bogus stop or other issue when driving. I set this app on my phone several months ago and I tested it twice so far and the feeds are set to go to one of the local TV stations that take pictures, video and other stuff and have one of those pain in the ass investigative reporters. I don't usually get stopped since I drive a black caddy most of the time and have gotten mostly grey hair so the police usually leave me alone. Anyways, this software really works and I think anyone that lives in an area where $$$$$ stops are routinely made should use it. Since the officer could get really nasty if he thought the phone was just recording but when he found out the stop gone bad was on the news, that would open a possible internal investigation. One just started today here in SD for a person accused of fixing/tearing up tickets for the DA's office....

Ustream is what Trekkor, and many of the lemons racers use to do a live in car feed. Works great if the track has consistent cell service.

3 times on Pelican, I've seen someone whine about a traffic stop, admit guilt and then go back later to edit their post on how innocent they were...I remember the names of all three to this day...Don't believe everything you read.
As far as presenting a legit insurance card and getting cited for no insurance, I'd bet large sums of money it was an EXPIRED card he/she was cited for.....

Are you sure that you are allowed to conduct that surveillance? Could there be other legal issues that you need to know about?

it should be legal for any citizen to record any civil servant any time any place but super esp when on the job and interacting with the citizen in public btw and semi-on topic how many live in small towns that have a NO tickets to residents policy ?? I am currently fighting city hall in our new small town we have motorcycle cops who are ticket machines and I want them GONE and a NO tickets policy to locals we are in a requesting neighbors to call the officials stage now but if they doNOT reform policy to our requests we will move to the recall drive stage we simply want andy of mayberry style law enforcement not the current barny's on motorcycles my former medium sized town [ coral gables ] did have that policy in place most times the cop warn locals and only ticket non-residents |

I'm sorry, but if a local breaks the law, they should pay the fine as well....
No tickets to locals is BS |

The only places it is illegal is states that have 2 party consent laws. Which is thankfully, a select few.

Problem is that in may areas its illegal to video LE without their permission. Getting that permission while the event is still happening aint gonna happen. Do not agree with this but its the law that they got voted into being.

Proof of insurance? Never heard of that one. Dont have to have that in Georgia. If you get pulled over, they check it electronically..

In CA the insurance can also be checked from the car along with a bunch of other informational things the state keeps on you. For example, one of my students missed his Progressive payment and within 2 days he got a letter from DMV "demanding" he send his license back to them. He paid the insurance and it took 5 weeks before DMV was satisfied, seems their computer system is a bit lop-sided maybe??!! I figure that they want to make you feel intimidated if they take away your "papers" since they already know everything anyways.......
