Speedtest.net
how accurate is it?
We went from a 6MB download to 12MB, same price. Turns out having a really old Comcast account is not such a good thing. They don't upgrade your speed out of the goodness of their hearts when their baseline changes. Anyway, the tech gave us the top of the line enterprise level cable modem/router and speedtest.net has jumped from 6MB to 32MB. BUT, while the connection is a lot faster, it's not blistering fast as you might expect. No complaints, just think that going from 6 to 32 (no idea why we aren't getting 12), pages would be loaded as you click. thoughts? ![]()

Your end of the pipe is only one part of the equation.
There may be no traffic in your driveway, street that your driveway feeds onto, main road out of town, I-95 and so on till you hit Staten Island and then you are f'd for the next hour but once past it you are moving again.
