Anyone here good at enhancing digital pics ?

Could use some help . Had some spoons stolen (guns) and a log book .

I've been trying to pull up the serial # on the gun but can't quite read it .

I can email pic to who ever wants to try to help. Also going through ATF to get #.

Here is a photobucket pic of the spoon .

H&K USP Tactical in 45 cal. Sadly there is a number below the UTL , but there is one above and just behind the trigger . Pic is grainy .....# is by the slide hold open lever (just above)

Also "lost" a pre-serial # 16 ga pump that I'm sure I'll never see again.

Hope someone with mad skills can help .

SxS

You're going to need a better picture.

The one posted it too grainy.

You need some Hollywood image enhancer to get anything out of that picture.
And i don't mean one that works for Holly wood i mean one that Hollywood portrays in a movie as an image enhancer CSI geek of sorts.

You have seen too many tv shows. Good luck but I think you are out of luck.

Sorry man, there is a lot of data lost. Pretty sure the last 2 digits are 76, but the first part of it is a near mush. If you zoom in and play with the contrast you can see it better.

Sorry to say but if that's the highest resolution image you have, there isn't much that can be done to extract more image quality from it. If you have a full res image I'd be happy to help you any way I can. In exchange for a ride in the Lambo of course!

Best of luck,
-Michael

That pic has too much jpeg artifacting going on. I tried lots of different ways, but it still looks like mush;

You should write a song about that number!

No wait, someone already did.

If that's the highest resolution pic you have, rather than post it here, maybe host it somewhere else and post a link. I've noticed that when I upload pics to Pelican, their image quality is reduced - sometimes. I can't tell why, or even what pics, but it definitely happens sometimes.

I can't lie , it was Damn funny !

I think I also lost the KY , think you guys are right and I'm going to need some.

I too had the best luck playing with the contrast and yes it looks to me like the last 2 are 76.

Not long ago I sold a gun and put the log book back with with other guns .

I know , bone-head move . I still have the log book , the H&K page was removed .

I'll look and see if the original is still on the camera , thanks all for trying to help.

Maybe the ATF will be of some help........

You'll have the most luck trying to enhance it if you have an early generation of the original image in the resolution the camera saved it in. The more times the image is saved as a jpeg the more degraded it gets. I've had a little luck at detail enhancement by sharpening various resolutions of the image. It seems like the pixels of interest are clearer when you sharpen them at some resolutions than at others. I'll give it a try, but I'll have to have you email a version of a generation as close to the original as possible.

Don't think this pic is any better but looking is free.

Wife tells me there have been 5 people coming by to try to sell alarm systems and 7 calls , I'm not too keen on salesman . Could get ugly......

Patrick , it's kind of you to offer .

I wouldn't feel right with your mom just passing and all that you have must have on your plate. Thanks very much for the offer though .

I'll see if I can get all of you better images , thanks again SxS
