I'm going to be in SoCal Dec 28th through Jan 1st

My girlfriend and I decided to head to Los Angeles between Christmas and New Years. We are driving from Minneapolis, and hitting the road at 8am Monday the 26th. The goal is Monday night in the Denver area. Tuesday night in Las Vegas. By late lunch Wednesday the 28th, we should be in the L.A. area. We have no firm plans of any kind. We just need to be back by Monday night, Jan 2nd.

Any SoCal Pelicans want to meet up? Anywhere from Hugh R (North of LA, Santa Clarita) to BeyGon (South OC, Dana Point)?

We'll be doing light touristy things, perhaps, but are really just soaking it in. Zero business this time.

Suggestions are welcome!

E

2 and a half days to get here means you really need the same to get home with the roads the way they are. So the Rose Parade is out. You really didn't want to fight those crowds anyway.

The good news is that SoCal is supposed to see temps near 80* for 3 days starting the 30th and clear the whole way, even the 29th. So, the beaches will be warm and almost hot up at Hugh's place.

If you did have the time, the NYD run from TRE would be a great way to spend the morning with a lot of Pelicans and more. 2nd to that would be the run in OC that features all manner of classic cars. That's my favorite.

I'll be around if you want to meet for lunch or dinner. Near me is the San Sylmar auto collection which is free and pretty extensive.
