For OWP: What's the best vehicle for running the Baja?

So, what's the best vehicle for running the Baja 1000? I am planning to enter this year and was thinking that the Smart for 2 might be a good option. What sort of upgrades should I get?

Does anyone here know of ANYONE that might have some answers or an opinion?

I think OneWhippedPuppy was really looking forward to this thread so I had to post it. Besides, I love reading OJU's posts!!

I do love to watch the Baja type races. Those trucks and the little buggies are impressive and look like a lot of fun, but even with their amazing suspensions, I'm betting you take a beating.

Just go with solar panels on the Leaf's roof. I hear Obama will pay you with our money to install them. Sounds good to me. Lots of sun in Baja.

well HOW FAST DO YA WANNA GO?

and HOW FAT IS YER WALLET?

bang fer buck?

score class 1/2 1600

score class 5 limited 1600

highest % of finishing.

stock mini trucks

stock full size

both classes very competitive.

stock means AFFORDABLE and trust me(ask me how know?) and that will kill yer bank acct.

if ya wanna be a GAWD and a BAD ASS REAL OFF ROAD RACER(type of guy)...................

TT's(trophy trucks) and "1" cars-unlimited bank acct, unlimited time on yer hands. insane fast. and you WILL PISS AND POO YERSELF!

or you can be a freeking ICON(higher than a gawd), and ride IRONMAN on a real live fire breathing 4-stroke DIRTY BIKE and if yer gawd damn lucky to survive, FINISH 1st OVERALL! getting rarer and rarer these days.

start fitment for a CATHETER ASAP!

a modified Prius would be great -- mount the drivetrain on a Volvo C303 chassis and you have a winner

I hear that Ford Raptor will pretty much eat Forerunners for breakfast, and have Trophy Trucks for desert.

Anybody who knows anything about whatever knows that. and it does it so efficently that whoever was in such a TT or FR, ends up damaged for life,
to the point they can't type properly anymore, use Caps all over the place and pretty much talk jibberish for the rest of their lives.

Yeah, I just don't see doin' it on a bike. Screw that. Put me in a truck or a buggy any day.

I've seen a couple, I drive past their shop on the way to work every day. Very badass looking cars. I thought about getting into one for a cool father/son project with my dad but $75k is a bit much.
