Syma S107g RC helicopter question...

So it's the night before Christmas and I thought I would charge up the Syma S107g RC helicopter I bought a month ago for my son.

Taking it out of the box, I noticed the rotors are loose. There's no mention of it in the directions.

Do I tighten them down or does centrifugal force cause them to work properly?

Merry Christmas everyone!

Do you mean the blades are loose?

If so yes they should be loose... the centrifugal force takes care of things once you start the copter up...

Being a veteran of many wars with my Syma steed - leave them loose.

Thanks guys.

Mikester, I was searching other forums (RCGroups.com: The ABCs of Radio Control - Aircraft, Boats, and Cars!) about the S107 and ran across your posts from 08.

Mike, can you explain my my S107 doesn't seem to make enough lift even on a full charge. The motors make a different noise than it did new, and it will attempt to hover, but only and inch or so high...

Could be the motors are worn out or the battery is. Have you checked the gears? Do the mesh freely?

My son's S107 started doing this after 8 mo or so, I'm guessing the battery is shot. For $30 just buy a new one, your old one can be a parts copter.
