35 college bowls?

I just finished watching Notre Dame and went over to espn.com to look at the schedules. I counted them up. 35 bowl games! Jeez! Good grief thats alot of revenue.

The last one should be a "classic" rematch...I doubt I watch any of the others.

20% "Everyone gets a trophy" PC-driven stupidity and 80% "If one makes us money then we'll just do it 34 more times and make more!"

I've watched not a one - and won't.

A classic rematch of the most boring game of the year. Yay, the BCS is awesome.

Fixed it for ya! I won't disagree with your BC$ assessment at all, but I like a "good defensive struggle" just as much a high scoring game too, so long as it's a competitive game. It may be "boring" to some, but I think the SEC defenses have pretty much settled the debate when they meet up with those "potent scoring machines" from other parts of the country. Sometimes I miss "Mule"...he was good at this "sporting debate" stuff...especially with Sammy

Good defenses on both sides, though I thought the "Game of the Century Part 1" was a combo of great defense and inept offense. I'm sure Mule would be all over this, though I'm not sure I miss him........

Nope. 0% PC and 100% capitalism. Everyone DOESN'T get a trophy.

And one Bowl game the teams are 6 wins, 7 losses. At least one team is anyway.

Partially true but you kinda' missed my point. There should be ONE, UNO, SINGLE trophy and that's for the National Champion. ONE championship game. Not 35. Either you're the best in the country or you're not. "Well, you're the best for schools located in states beginning with 'M' with a total student body of under 15,000 and total annual endowments of $20M to $60M" is just stupid. Either you're the best or you're not. I don't see the need to create so many categories just so you can have more "winners". It smacks of present-day political correctness where every victory gets an asterisk because it hurts some LOSER'S feelings and every game has to be rigged to give everyone (or at least as many as possible) a trophy.

One champion. Uno. Done.

That's the way it should be.

I've watched almost every one so far and they have been really good games - most very close games and undecided until the end. Last night's Alamo Bowl was unbelievable - especially if you like offense. RG III was insane and so was the Huskie's QB Price.

My team sucked for the second year in a row - we have some issues to get through before being serious contenders again. Somehow though we got a bowl game and a new OC so for me it will interesting to see if that dynamic influences our performance.

If you're not a die-hard college football person - I can understand your negativity. But if you ARE a die-hard college football person - like me - these bowl games have been a LOT of fun.

As far as Bama vs. the Tigers (rematch) it's the best against the best - nothing wrong with that.
Bama would have won the last game had they had their kicking game in order. I believe they are the superior team but LSU on the other hand always seems to find a way to win.
I'm looking forward to this game!

The winner of the BCS Title Game is the national champion, period. Other teams may win a trophy for winning their respective bowl games, but there's only one national champ. As for the ridiculous number of bowl games, it's about money not PC. It's sad because attending a bowl game used to be a big deal, now it only requires a .500 record.
