WWYD? Senior citizen down on side of road.

Coming out of a complex near the ocean in Newport Beach.....driving the cabriolet, top down with the Wonder Dog in the passenger seat....I see a Senior down for the count on the side of the road....she's in bed clothing.

Mini Van pulled over and dude and dudette out and attempting to pick her up.

I pull over, get out......dressed nicely in black shirt with necktie, black pants, black on black saddle bucks.....ask if I can can help.

Dude says 'Jenny took a fall'......I ask 'Jenny if she's OK'...she says help me.....

I push 911 speed dial on my cell and turn to the right with my hand to my back. The D&Ds get nervous. I keep my hand at my back and the PD shows up....quickly as it's the eve and the DUI task force is 100 yards away off of PCH.

Crap gets weird when the D&Ds start to leave. PD detains them....

PD asks me to leave but gets my information.....

Maybe they will tell me what happened.....

What would YOU have done?

Good on you for giving a schit. So many people would just drive away and say 'not my problem'.

I thought I saw a person down in a driveway several months back. I flipped around and sure enough there was an elderly woman that had slipped crossing an icy driveway. She had been there for 45minutes unable to get herself up, hundreds of cars must have passed. She was shaken but OK, I drove her home (1/2mile away). She was just walking to the store, couldn't have been more than 8' from the road... craziness.

What everyone else said. Maybe it was nothing, and maybe you saved her life. Either way I'm glad to know there are still people out there that are willing to stop, and do the right thing. Good on ya.

Yoh did the right the right thing. I found someone at the end of their driveway laying down about 2 years ago. He had a heart attack reaching down for the paper.

Refreshing to see someone cares about someone else they don't know from atom. It's how we are suppose to act, but most don't. Kudos to you my friend, for caring enough .. Merry Christmas, Tim

Exact same thing you did.

In fact, I have stopped for a down senior citizen twice, and it was the same guy both times.

Both times he was lying in his driveway with his dog lying next to him. Both times he was sleeping, but seemed cognizant when I woke him up. In fact the first time he was a little irritated that I was asking him questions.

Good job. Years ago my wife and I were on a walk when we found an older lady on the ground and bleeding at the end of her driveway, she had fallen when going to get the mail. We helped her inside and I ran home to get our car to take her to the ER. My wife stayed with her until her family arrived.
