While I admire his artisanship, what is the point in not using power tools of any kind? He's modeling an aircraft that was certainly built with power tools. I don't get it.

i disagree, it's the end result that makes it cool
The no power tools part to me just sounds tedious and does not add extra value to me..

Not sure I buy his no electric tools or help bits. How are the internal engine bits made? Hand chiseled from billet?

I didn't watch the whole thing but the guy is an old school machinist. Most likely he has an treadle powered lathe, etc.
When I had my wood working shop I had a English trained pattern maker renting a 500sq/ft room off of me, he had all the old equipment and still used them every day. His blueprints looked exactly the same, as does the quality of work. He always had steady work, painstakingly slow and he never seemed to be in a rush, but he was never late with the rent.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.
