Now they're going to have an annual ice breaker race from Anchorage to Nome. Called the Iceditarod.

In 1969, I flew into Nome, Alaska. Wow!
Everything was in Black & White. No color. Bleak. Depressing. Really a remote spot in the U.S. The longer I was there the more suicide thoughts. Went to Kodiak and got better. Still... that is one cold place to live. Glad they got the the heating supplies they need. |
