If we go to hooters, what's the price for some table dancing? :D

I kid, I kid. Belmont brewery sounds good. Last time I went there scotty was with you and P-O-P back when he was a SoCal dissident.

Your thinking of the castle... No we are not going to the castle!

Hooters is a sports bar! Don't scare the girl off before we even get started!

My buddy is in there a couple times a week and is a heavy tipper so we get treated like kings.

Honestly... I have seen families throwing birthday parties in hooters...

1st and Ocean run parallel. So if you're near Pine Ave., listen to SMDue.

L'Opera has a great bar, pricey food. Across the street is The Madison. Both are in old banks; The Madison is spectacular inside. You can always walk in and take a look. Kings Fish House at Broadway and Pine is good and fairly priced. Don't walk around downtown too much, better to have some company or be in a group of pedestrians.

It's safe, but there was a lot of riff raff last time I was there. Who needs it?

scottmandue 01-30-2012 04:48 PM

+1 on Kings... there are a couple nice places on that block... I think there is a Spanish restaurant? and a gigantic sports bar, never been in but it looks nice (Smooths?)

Is Joe Jost's still open? Classic dive bar... Churchill's is a nice cigar shop on Broadway :D

If you want to make a drive to Fresno, I got lots of suggestions for great restaurants. Long Beach, not so much. There was this one place that I ate at in Long Beach a loooooong time ago with my room mate in college. It was called "Russell's", and was near the ocean. Loved that place. Does anyone know if it's still there? That would be worth a drive to go back. We ate there I wanna say....1989 or so. Now I'm dating myself as an old fart.

Zeke 01-30-2012 05:23 PM

Russell's went BK after a supplier to the restaurant bought it and made it into a chain.

Smooths is closed and Joe Jost's will always be there. It is the oldest bar in Long Beach.

rusnak 01-30-2012 05:38 PM

Oh man!!

Is Ruby's still in business? I used to love the one at the end of the pier in Newport Beach. In fact, I recommend driving south to Newport or Laguna for some quality grub.

nostatic 01-30-2012 05:42 PM

You don't have to go behind the orange curtain to get good food...

rusnak 01-30-2012 06:10 PM

hippie, please. get over it.

Brando 01-30-2012 08:29 PM

Any word on tomorrow? I gotta get my plans solidified before the working day begins :p

tweezers74 01-30-2012 10:04 PM

porsche4life 01-30-2012 10:09 PM

Well damn, now I've got to come up with an excuse to come back to Phoenix...

techweenie 01-31-2012 08:07 AM

What's up for tomorrow night, Tweezy? Joe Josts is a must-see in LB. And there's also Belmont Brewing Company : Home

scottmandue 01-31-2012 08:13 AM

I will be at hooters tonight... straight from work so I will be wearing the best in nerd wear, purple polo shirt with white molecule logo embroidered on left chest... black cargo pants. Tom is easy to spot, 6'4" 300 lbs plaid shirt.

Better yet, ask for Diana (waitress) and ask for Tom.

I get there at around 6 but we usually hang out till 8 or 9.

Location scouting is a vital process in the pre-production stage of filmmaking and commercial photography.[1] Once scriptwriters, producers or directors have decided what general kind of scenery they require for the various parts of their work that is shot outside of the studio, the search for a suitable place or "location" outside the studio begins. Location scouts also look for generally spectacular or interesting locations beforehand, to have a database of locations in case of requests.[2]

Location scouts often negotiate legal access to filming locations.

Is this what you do? Sounds very interesting....and sorry for the slight thread hijack Tweez!

I'm not a location scout, I'm on a location scout for an upcoming movie, The Lone Ranger. I do risk management and production safety for Disney.

scottmandue 01-31-2012 11:22 AM

Edit, I am going home early... but if anyone wants to drop by just ask for Diana, she will know were we are.
