Yeah Jim....incredible why people whine so much....they even whine about whining! https://encrypted-tbn3.google.com/im...XF612T9PyFQdIX  |
Really? That's amazing. How about the people that are whining about those that whine about the people whining about the MSM? Are they baby poo, or just stooging for political whiners like the Newt?

Mainstream media is controlled by a select few corporations.
Since when do corporations have the best interest of public at mind? |
I still watch news. I still watch the local news out of my small city, but do get tired of the constant stream of exciting stories about lost dogs & cats, potholes, potheads, college and high school events, fluffy animals at a day care center, and the other stuff they fill with since we are just too unimportant to have much real news here. I sometimes wish we had more murder and mayhem...

Thats why when I want news I tune into Telemundo. I dont understand a da*n thing they're saying but it dont matter b/c the scenery is nice to look at. |
I had my cable turned off several months ago. No channels whatsoever. I thin TV makes you dumber. My pet peeve is that the "media" is 100% focused on one thing. Selling. Any incidental informative (as opposed to dis-informative) material is purely accidental.
News anchor comes on after several minutes of commercials and excitedly announces "WHAT COMMON ITEM YOU PROBABLY HAVE IN YOUR HOME IS RESPONSIBLE FOR XX,XXX DEATHS EACH YEAR? STORY.....AFTER THIS......." Then after several more minutes of commercials, they tell you that lots of people slip and fall in their showers. But hey.....they got you to suffer through tons of commercials which, after all......is the important thing. |
I agree with you all - the way the "news" is broadcast these days is a joke....
No wonder our society is so screwed up! |

Inaccurate stories that are poorly researched/no fact verification. Lack of prep work for the story such as gross mispronunciation of story specific terms or proper names.
If you are doing a story on the recently desceased Medford Mayor, Jerry Lausmann, his last name was pronounced "lawz-men" not "louse-man" you ignorant twat (local news reporter). angela |

I've always thought traffic division was too lazy to actual enforce poor driving behaviour...much easier to just cite for speeding. Came back to bite them today in Orlando when a motorcycle cop was struck by a car after he wrote a speeding ticket - ironically the speeder didn't cause the injury - it was the other driver who was driving "poorly"....who caused the injury. Ironic in a way but exactly what I've known all the years I've been driving.....;) |
I hate that the little station icon in the corner has to have about 14 things moving or spinning or sparkling inside it.
Watch it next time. Just sit and stare at it for a minute. It's like a small tornado of useless activity down there. WHY? Why did some fat management dude decide to pay some skinny hipster art student to make a whirlwind icon for the freaking news? Any background graphic, any side bar, anything not "real" always has flashing lights and lasers and sparkles and all sorts of annoying and useless crap. That's what bugs me. That, and traffic girls who wear frumpy clothes. |

So while watching a show on the History Channel, they advertise "American Pickers" by having those two guys carry a chiffarobe across the bottom of the screen. Or while watching a tense scene in a police drama, here comes some couple twirling and leaping across the bottom of the screen in an attempt to entice you into watching "Dancing with the Stars." What's next... an ad for Cheerios, Chantix, or Arby's? |
