Crowbob- nice kit! My drum teacher still uses his Slingerlands that he had when he was instructing back in the early 70s. He plays in Alpena quite often.

Messin' around with the camera angle. The garage is rather "boomy" but I think the ol' Ludwigs sound pretty good.

Me again.

Changed the kit up a bit today.

I lowered my crashes by about 3 inches and made my front tom almost level with my snare. I'm digging the changes. I ended up cutting the tom stand because the darn thing is so deep even the lowest setting wasn't enough.

Been a guitar player for 30 years but just got a drum kit for my music room for my drummer to use. Gretsch renown with zildgian avedis 14 hats and an 18 and 21 crash/ride. I just need to add a splash and I want to get an Istanbul Mel Lewis 21 with rivets.

Using a 5x14 Ludwig Supraphonic with a Remo P77

I've come along way in just 3 weeks. It is so addicting when everything starts flowing easier each day. Biggest challenge has been getting the 10 and 12 toms tuned right

Lousy pic but here is the

kit

The stigma against electonic drums rivals that of the new-fangled electric guitars back in the day.

Drums have suddenly become 'instruments' because of it. It is possible to have thousands and thousands of voices emanating from percussive activity. Melodies, themes and even individual songs that can stand on their own merit, alone by themselves, are possible.

Ive been looking for a used set to pick up and was looking at the above PDP set and then I went to Guitar Center today and played the Roland V kit.. I was AMAZED how good they sound. Really incredible. I have seen them around obviously, but have never played them.. WOW.. I totally get it now.. I still have that mental burden to overcome of them not being "real", but I am leaning towards them now... And it's a plus that a guitar can plug into the same amp..
