With enough money it could be done. It is highly unlikely to ever happen.

The sheer cost of building it would mean that it would never be financially viable. Even if he built it with no landscaping (most "likely" )

Why recreate an old track that has imperfections? With computer modeling they could build a virtual racetrack, even have professional drivers test it and get their input before building plus integrate all the infrastructure. Make a safer more comfortable/covenant track for everyone.

Bruton has a history of getting his way, and while this does seem like a pipe dream I wouldn't put anything past him.

I've never been to Vegas before, but if they built that, I would come.

Replicate the Nurburgring on a flat desert floor. Okay. Close.
These yahoos don't know what they're talking about. Maybe try for something a little more attainable, like making Las Vegas Motor Speedway safer (interesting would be a good objective too) so they can attract more motorsport events to LV. Sherwood |

Because it's "the Nurburgring". It's iconic. It's an automotive Mecca. Why would anyone want or try to build a Porsche 917 in this day and age? I have to say, if I had the money, I sure would.
I'd love to go to Germany and drive the 'Ring. If I could drive one closer to home for a lot less money, I'd do that too.

The Nurburgring can NEVER be recreated.
If you've driven or been driven around it you will understand why. If you haven't then you won't understand and you need to go and drive it to learn why. There is only one and nothing will ever come close no matter how much money is spent.

Even if its not the same.
A long track in the same spirit would be awesome. Something that you can pay for per lap, any day of the week. With the idea that it can be used for racing, sounds good to me. ![]()

With the fiasco going on in Austin and the Baltimore Indy car race barely hanging on, plus the other struggles like Irwindale closing here in CA, I don't think this is a good time to be thinking of some kind of replica trophy track.
Las Vegas does have decent history of road racing and tracks. F1 has been there in a parking lot and the old Stardust Grand Prix track had CamAm. There is a fairly nice road track outside the oval and there is another inside the oval. Plus a 1/4 dirt track, a motocross track and a kart track. Then there's the Silver State Classic for long distance high speed driving. I don't know what else they need. |

reno fernley is a copy of no track, is barely remaining open and has changed hands a couple of times as the ownwers keep going broke. nevada is where it might be done, but its too hot, too cold and too far for many.

the realy cool thing about that track in germany is... its a public one way roadway-
this is probably the real reason it is still operating 20e a lap as manny as you want to buy- not 500- a grand a day for track time average joe can pull a lap when the urge is there-
