I went to a website where you enter some questions about your lifestyle and it tells you when you will die, the exact date. The site told me I was already dead so each day is a bonus day to me and I treat them as such.

I'd rather go out very quickly - no warning - and with my "boots on" hell yeah!
Harold Iggy died doing what he loved. If you're going to go this is the way to do it! RIP: Harold Iggy | SURFLINE.COM I don't take anything for granted including every day I'm granted. I've already lived an incredible life - so for me if it ends tomorrow - I will be OK and at peace with it. That said - my goal is to still be surfing when I am a Supercentenarian. ![]()

I've had so many close calls that I consider every single day the "bonus"...

its gonna suck either way...I just don't want it prolonged. I have seen what that does to loved ones and it is torture. I rather it be quick so that they can get over it and move on...not that there would be that many people mourning my death!

Interesting thoughts here and I appreciate them all. I still strugle with it and everyone's thoughts help me shed more light for my GF as she is having a difficult time. I really live my life thinking that I want every single day on earth I can get. I don't leave much on the table when I hit the sheets every night. However, looking at my Mom and my GF's dad has me thinking I want it to be quick and without warning.
I know for sure I never want to know how many days I have left. It keeps me motivated because I can think that today could be the last one. The bucket list is an interesting concept I have not spent too much time considering. Just thought of it more as a Hollywood movie thing. I try not to leave anything out there not done. I think I will give it some thought though. But, what happens when you do everything on the list? Mike, I really hope you are not on borrowed time, I have said this to you before via email, but my bucket list would include having dinner with you and I have not even started writing it out. In fact, I think I live a pretty good life. I get to do what I want, have a great GF and a great fantastic son. So now that I think about it, my bucket list is going to be about shaking hands and breaking bread with people I really respect, but have never met face to face. Many of those people are members of this forum. Starts with Mike, Steve, Shaun and the list will go on..... ![]() Strange how things in everyday life make one take stock of their own life and give consideration to how they want to spend the remainder..... Cheers

Hmm.. I love the comment about only having 80 summers or so... Less than that for me I am sure! I seem to fight this cancer bug every few years now as with many in my family. At 43 yrs of age I take every day as a gift and get very mad at myself when the self pity kicks in...thats a true waste of time!!! As for the actual day, I don't know and don't care to know......living today! (the first cancer scare prompted me to buy the PORSCHE by the way!!!)

I hope to live long enough to collect my first SS check. Also, spend a small amount of the money I've saved up after all these years on some small car parts, nice meals, travel, etc. Then let my wife and kids spend the rest or save the rest, whichever.

Jeff,
Stay strong. Life is a series of tests. I'm ready for dinner anytime! We'll get together one day. Best of Luck!

As I ride a bike for my primary mode of transportation, I bear in mind my exposure is off the charts. But I never worry about it. I really only worry about my wife. Bad things don't happen to me often enough to worry about them, but making her a widow or her making me a widower are all I really worry about. Man, I was in a shaky, tiny Embraer from CLT to IAH the other night and that is NOT how I want to die.
