By "they", are you refering to Jaguar's designers or the designers of the flat black car specifically? That's a '71, 2+2 (as I'm sure you see, though the "pregnant" roof bulge isn't as apparent at that angle) has a Chevy zz383 crate motor. Built by Ken "Posies" Fenical.

Cool looking but put it next to a nice, stock, 2 seat coupe, and my personal dowsing rod, "Woody", stands at attention and points at the stocker.

hoo wee,

anyone else see this one that just sold for under 20k on ebay? Auction just ended a couple hours ago... something like this would be an absolute bullseye for me:

Jaguar : XK Jaguar : XK - eBay (item 251048181365 end time May-02-12 17:00:30 PDT)

nice enough that you would be proud to own it, but not so nice that you'd be afraid to drive it and get the occasional ding

Hey, it could be worse... you could have TWO of them like me!

Actually the V-12 is a daily driver and reliable as can be.

Do remember that the rear suspension trailing arms are prone to detach from the frame due to corrosin.
