Dyson Vacuum POS
My wife bought a Dyson DC25 about 10 months ago. The beater brush stopped working. They sent me a new head. That did not fix it. It is still under warranty. I have to deliver it to their service center, which is 45 minutes away, then go back and get it when it is repaired.
This is the only vacuum I have ever owned that did not give years of service before any issues. Dyson = POS. |

Sorry to hear about your problems. We have had ours for over 8 years without a single problem.

We beat the heck out of our first one for a long time. The reason that we ultimately had to replace it was because a clueless housekeeper tried to pry the canister out of it and broke it in the process.
We bought a canister model and it's been great. We've got dogs, and these things clean like crazy. The only functionality problems that we had were due to hair getting places and needing to be cleaned out which I don't think I can blame on the vacuum. One other issue was from the filter getting clogged by that powder that you can sprinkle on the floor before you vacuum. Cleaned the washable filter and was back in business. The new one works even better than the old one did which is pretty impressive.

Mine has been great. In addition to cleaning the HEPA filter once a month I "backflush" it a couple of times a year by blowing into the outlet with a shop vac. A cloud of accumulated dust comes out.

It's under warranty = Expected customer service. Driving 3 hours to and fro ( 45 minutes x 4 trips ) customer service = I might as well throw the POS out. Worked good when it wasn't broken. Reminds me of redheads when the sex was great but a horrible personality disorder surfaced and that was the end of it. I didn't get married until I was 36, so there were a few redheads, if you know what I mean. Redheads named Debbie = stay way. It took me too long to learn that. Tattoos indicate a chemical imbalance = trouble ahead. Avoid vacuums with tattoos.

People either love Dysons or hate them. We bought a Bosch vacuum about 7 years ago and it's fantastic. Too bad they don't sell them in the US any more...

We've had a Dyson at least six years. It doesn't owe us anything.

We had a lot of wood floors in the house I left, so we used a Boma and then a hand held Dyson. It worked fairly well, my only complaint is battery life.
I left it with her, when I moved into my new place I couldn't justify spending tons of money on a vacuum so I got a Hoover Windtunnel. We had one for aout 10+ years without any issues. The new one works just fine. Bill |

going from wood too loose or area rugs will often kill a Dyson..
well the beater thingy goes squeeeeeeeeeeeek.. mine did the first time I used it.. tech showed me what to do... easy.. you may drive 45 min.. but you don't have to come back for it.. 30 seconds..done any vac. shop tech can do this or show you.. Rika |

Well, I had to deliver it and will have to pick it up. When I got home ( 2 hour round trip)I got a call from Dyson offering to ship it, but I explained it was already at the repair shop. They offered a free tool as compensation.
Let's see how the repair goes. |
