I think he is talking widebody 911 vs full-blooded 930.

Essentially the statement reads .... what is the point of paying a premium to have a widebody 911 and not having 930 performance?

Different stokes for some .... I think the widebody 911 is a great compromise for a lot of people.

It took me a while to translate your post, but I think I get it now.

You're asking why people will pay 30-40 for a turbo-look car? Why not just get a turbo for the same (or less) money?

Not everyone likes the lag you get with a turbo.
They may want the look with the NA feel.
Me, I love the lag and power.

Slant nose asking about fat bodies, gotta be some irony there.

Yes you are right but they ask more than what a turbo goes for and besides you want a car that looks fast but no performance

They were factory original cars and not many of them. Differences were primarily limited to the engine but in '87 and '88, the turbo-look cars had G-50s while the turbo still had a (stout) 4-speed.

BTW, chebby sold a LOT of REALLY slow, ill-handling, poor stopping Z/28s as well as all kinds of tarted up other Camaros...people bought all that were made.

No performance is a bit harsh.
Most people like the feel of NA engines.
A turbo car is harder to drive fast.

+1

Modern tech has reduced the lag in these old cars and made them better.
However, they are still old cars.

I have a little experience with superchargers. NO LAG. Why does Porsche not go that route?
